Actually, if they show up -- let them carry the big guy. geauxtri - 2009-03-14 10:11 PM triguynewbie - 2009-03-14 8:09 PM Good Evening Heather!! Sounds like you survived yesterday Sucks that you have to wait out a probationary period It is really hard to get on our team. There is a big stink that I am even able to train with them. Supposedly there are a lot of guys that grieved it to the Swat Commander. He invited them to come run the 2 mile run in gear next week and if they can beat me then he will listen to their greivance. So far there are no takers. Evidently my time was really good. Unfortunately they won't have to do that. It is part of the try out. All the guys that have had a problem with it don't have a chance in the world of making the team. There is already a qualified waiting list with another official try out in June or July. |

Master 1632 Almost Canada, WA | Subject: RE: Taser Roasted Peeps skrtrnr - 2009-03-14 9:34 AM it was a lovely day for a run here Western PA. sunny, a bit cold but TOTALLY TERRIFIC! 31:36 was my finish time. and i ran an additional 1 miler w my hubby and super FAST kids!! WOW! who knew? didnt get the swifty gene from mommy thats for sure. my youngest got FIRST PLACE in his age group and my 9 year old got SECOND PLACE in his age group. no hardware for mom, but im so happy, happy, happy my kids got LOTS of BLING and did AWESOME! as for my race.... my time was better than i had 'feared', but id be lying if i said that i wasnt frustrated. at this point, i believe its at least 70% MENTAL, just something that im gonna have to sort through. i need to get back to that place where running a race was accomplishment inandofitself, remember those days? AND i HAVE TO ditch that little voice inside that says, if you didnt get injured, you'd be..... its OK to feel the disappointment. its hard going from running a certain pace, to feeling like your starting at square one. i guess i just hadnt anticipated how hard, or how long this was going to take... but i PROMISE myself im not going to hang here too long. ill find my way THROUGH. i did when i got injured, and thats what brought me to TRIs. so my intention is the same NOW. thanks EVERYONE for your words of encouragement! my inspire 'box' was chock-full. SO good to come home to especially feelin' a little frustrated.... i know for me persistence, consistency is key. i may not be swiftiest, but ill sure as hell be the most persistent and consistent athlete out on the course.... gonna keep plugging away! Stacie, you did awesome! This race is a big accomplishment being your first one since your injury and that in itself should make you proud of yourself that you even did it! Congrats to you and your kiddos!! |

The forecast was supposed to be in the 40s but it was in the 20s. Brrrr! I was glad when we finally started running! I finished in 27:39 (my watch said 27:23 but whatever). I'll take it! I placed 2nd in the Athena division. Hardware! The chick who won the division passed me. Unacceptable but I just couldn't reel her back in. YOU ROCK, ERICA!!!! |

Champion 6225 | Subject: RE: Taser Roasted Peeps HI EVERYONE. its a BRAND NEW DAY! YEAH. and a sunny one at that.... 4 day warming trend here in Western PA. can we all say HORRAY. im hoping to get out on my bike this afternoon for a 'clear my head' ride...and maybe hit the pool for a little bit w my kids when they go to the Y later on this afternoon. want to try and get a jump start to the week. w all the fine weather were expected to have, im hoping i can get in a little xtra cycling. next week i launch my trng for the MS150, and the mileage gets a climbing. anyone ever do a CENTURY OR A 150 and advice for preparing/trng to this newcomer? im all ears.
i joined the April challenge and set a cycling goal for the month, all the 150 trng miles i need to get in. HOLY CRAPOLY, its a lot of miles! but breaking it down, and looking at one mile at a time, one hour at a time, its not THAT bad....challenging, but not impossible. and what w my first race post injury done and outta the way (WHAT an ugly run yesturday, but as they say its in the books, and thats what counts...) i can focus in on my MS150 trng, and my mini tri at the end of April (super excited, its coming up fast) so im off! have a TERRIFIC DAY yunz guys! |
