Hi Vixens, no workout for me today, but I'm still on track for the challenge

got a lot done though and I'm beat!

I'm so bummed, my oldest was supposed to be coming in today from St Louis, he missed his flight - (went to the wrong airline :/) between weather and everything else, it just isn't going to happen

He's booked on a flight for tomorrow and hopefully the weather will cooperate

Beth, sorry to hear that!   Hopefully he will make it in tomorrow!

After a long, hard day of playing in the shoveling snow, I'm in for the night.  I just poured a nice glass of wine and plan to start dinner soon.  Why do kids have soooooo much energy and I poop out after an hour or so????

I know, it really stinks

looking at the postives, I was able to get a lot of stuff done today - and if he was flying in tonight, it would have been a game of delays -

it's sort of humorous actually, cuz I keep getting text messages from orbitz, I'm well informed about the status of the flight my son missed!

Hey guys! Beth, thanks for sending the update to everyone and for calling and checking on me. Thanks to all of you for the well wishes and healing vibes! I feel better today but am still taking it easy. I went out with 2Goggs last night. I'm forcing him to entertain me while I'm under the weather

Hey Kathy!  Did you dig out?  Our neighbor has a snow blower but didn't come over until after I had been out for 2 hours.  He saved me from having to shovel the snow at the end of the driveway from the snow plow! Good times!

We have a snow blower so we are in pretty good shape, that and the fact that the driveway is short and filled with cars. I had a fun run in the snow yesterday and hope to repeat in the morning.  I hadn't run in a week for various reasons and was afraid I had lost all my training. Silly I know, but it just makes me nervous when I can't get out there.  How was your day?

Strangely quiet!  The morning was spent outside but the afternoon was so quiet!  We stayed home and just enjoyed the day.  Cole and I put together a puzzle, Alex and Liam played games, Bryan played on the computer.....then we watched Mamma Mia.  It was nice.  I made dinner, made some truffles for tomorrow having wine.....good day!

I am hoping for rain tomorrow.  I need to run but if it is crappy weather, I am not sure it will happen.  I asked Santa for YakTrax so I can run in the snow.  Hope he comes through for me!  I'll take the treadmill at this point!  I'm desperate!!

I've heard other blogs mention YakTraks (sp) but I'm not familiar with them. Are they just a clip on cleat?  I have an extreme dislike for the dready but would rather run in snow than rain.  The nice thing about all the outdoor time is everyone is tired by the evening and just happy to chill.  Between the warm fire, food and fatigue my family is practically comatose tonight!Smile

Yeah, YakTrax are pretty much just that!  I have come to hate the treadie too.  It just doesn't do much for me.

Same for me.  I get so into my head on the treadmill and it is constantly telling me to STOP!  When I am outside I can focus on other things, plus I can just get 2-3 miles from home and then I'm forced to go back, on the dready I can stop any time and I do.  Are your kids off school now? 2 weeks of family time....has it's up & down sides....

My kiddos have school Monday and a half day Tuesday.  Bryan is on vacation until the 27th so I can head out on the road until then.  Even after he goes back to work, he doesn't have to go into work everyday so I should be able to avoid the treadmill most days.  I really need to get running in order to be ready for Hyannis!  It's coming up fast!  Do you have a goal time in mind?

My 10th grader is out of school now until the new year, should be interesting....  Hyannis will be my 1st longer race, whether I stick with the 1/2 or go to 10K, so my only goal is to finish and hopefully with some modicum of grace and dignity.  How about you?

Okay, look, if you are dragging me over to MA in February, you must do the half with me!

I would love to improve on my half time of 2:29 from October.  Sooo, anything faster than that would be great.  BUT, having not had full training time and it being ummmm, freezing, we'll see what happens!
