iowagander - 2010-02-13 4:09 PMDrat! I was trying to post some new pictures here for you guys, but the files are over 100 kb and I'm too dumb to figure out how to insert a link to them without the dreaded red x showing up instead. Well, I guess if you guys want to see my new bike p0rn you'll just have to click on my album.

She's a Specialized Tarmac Elite and I took her out for the first time today after pulling the trigger and buying her last night. It was interesting to be out on the road to say the least. There was plenty of traffic and red lights, and I even got to get cut off by a few cars just pulling into the bike lane (thank God we HAVE them here) and stopping for no apparent reason. Man it felt good to be out though!

More good news is that the ride did NOT make my left leg feel sore at all, so I'm hoping I'll be able to log some miles while I take my break from running. I definitely need to get the engine into shape before I go for any tris this summer, and my sit bones definitely need some acclimation as well They're still sore from the stationary bike ride on Thursday, but today's ride didn't hurt too bad even though I wore tri shorts (which I bought in lieu of bike shorts).
Oooh, she's purdy! Tell me more--what components are on her? what's her name gonna be? And do you have a matching helmet? (I'm a girl, what can I say?)

Evening Amy! She's got 105's and no name as of now. I'm still getting to know her My helmet is a silver/gray Giros, so if it'll make you happy I'll say it matches the accent stripe on the fork/head tube/top tube. My wife was actually making fun of the possibility of being all matchy-matchy with colors, but she'll come around. Next on the shopping list are clipless pedals/shoes and a short sleeve jersey or three.

Or three... I love it! Yeah, I'm not so much for the matchy matchy either, but we'll keep that a secret between you and me, LOL. Congrats again.

Great job Dee!!! No reason to feel guilty about not finishing last and terrific that you're time's came in ahead of what you'd hoped.  That's always a great feeling.

Hey Dudes! Cool

Still sick...I sound pretty funny...I just have this rumble going on when I talk. Its pretty awesome...no sore throat though..somehow, I don't really know how I achieved that...but yay for URTI and viral conjunctivitis...oh yaaaaaa...

So my meet results...drumroll please....

50 fr--32.2

100 bk-- 120.4

50 bk-- 37.3

So what do those times mean? Basically I have qualified for provincials in 50bk, 100bk and am now  "B" level provincial swimmer...which is the lowest level of qualification for a senior swimmer...but w/e...haha...Have a ways to go before I am an "A" level...

Ya...

I'm not sure where you get your standards from, but they must be pretty freaking high. Seriously, I doubt I could come anywhere near those times if I had a boat and a head start! Just imagine how speedy you'll be when you can actually breathe...

Great job Melindy, now go take care of the URTI and get some rest!
