I weighed in at 139. I hate that number, it is tooooo high.

Amy here is my $.02 on your training.

If you are worried about shin splints I'd go with the Hal Higdon novice plan. You run 4 days a week, your longest run being 10 miles. This is what I did, others here have used it as well, you will be fine.

I basically agree with Neal on the rest though.

If you can swim through the sprints, the half marathon training will take care of the run, and some long biking will cover you for your bikes. Maybe find an Olympic plan to use for your swim and bike, but add a little more to the bike miles, and substitute your HM running for the running in the Oly plan.

Sorry I'm not of more help, I'm still new to this, too.

hello Ghoulies.

I have not weighed yet.  Definitely want to lose weight, but haven't faced the scale. 

Over the last five months I have upped my exercise amazingly.  I eat fairly healthy, but obviously still too much I guess.  My body has toned up, but when I have checked the weight it has not budged.  Depressing.  Frown

I know how you feel, Dee. I had lost 40 pounds then hit a rock wall, couldn't lose anything. I took some time off, from trying to lose weight, shifted the focus to just running, trying to keep on moving.

I'm ready to start losing weight again. I want to lose 10 pounds. I'm working on my training schedule from Feb through May now. Not all swim/bike/run there is some Yoga and strength training in there as well. I'm also hoping that mixing up the running will help, too. Not just running miles, but some speed miles in there.

I've only gained 3 pounds in the last 4 months, so it's not a lot, but it is not the direction I want to be heading.

Morning gang.  I weighed in and it is not good.  12.2 lbs away from race weight.  No wonder the jeans don't fit.  So, it will be a 5lb goal for February.

Well I did eat a lot...but no I do not think it was 14,000 calories!  I think that it is water weight since the other variables are fairly similar, and I started this goal to drink 8 glasses of water a day which greatly increased the amount of water I was drinking.

I just did my training schedule for the next 4 months, that will get me through Black Bear.

After reading it I think I need to go back and make some adjustments. Somehow I ended up swimming and biking 4x a week, while running 5. The running is because I threw a HM plan in for the running.

I don't really have a rest day where I do nothing. I'm not sure I can do nothing for a day.

I did biking in minutes for now. Once I can get outside that will change. My average speed is much faster outside than it is on the trainer. I want to get lots and lots of hills in, too. That won't be a problem since I have them EVERYWHERE!

I have to go back and take a second look now.
