hmmm well Im thinking train or car because some of the flights are REALLY expensive...

Ive just spent a constructive morning finding out how much plane flights for my fantasy USA trip would cost...

I havent even tried to work out accommodation yet!

Give me something to aim for...

haha well whats making it hard is places I originally didnt pick now have cool people there I want to meet...

ie: I wouldnt go to Florida but there are people in Florida... and if Im going that far anyway maybe I should head down to Miami too...

So now my monster trip is getting WAY out of hand and Im going to have to start culling again!

There is a 10K in NY on Dec 7 and a 15K on the 20th if you feel like running in the Big Apple Neither are anything crazy special though, just regular races. I'm definitely doing the 10K but will likely be out of town for the 15. I've done that one before and love it. They serve hot chocolate

EDIT: I hit an even 1300 with this post!

hmmmmm, maybe that's a sign!  LOL

Congrats on the ever increasing post count!

I have a long way to go before I catch up to you!

so, tell me more about compression socks....I must have missed that conversation

I bought compression socks back in early September when i was cleared to run again after 5.5 weeks off. I've had some lower leg issues in the past, including a tibial stress fracture and I knew I'd be ramping the mileage up quickly so I figured they couldn't hurt.

Long story short, I love them! I haven't run or raced without them since and I've had very little lower leg pain and swelling. Even after my 15, 18 and 20 milers. Some people swear they are BS, but why would the medical industry use compression if it doesn't work? Some people think they make you look stupid. I don't care. I just want to enjoy running and not break my legs

I may look into them...it would be a bit of extra warmth and I am honestly a wimp about being cold.

They are interesting because they do add a little heat when it's warm outside, but not enough to make you hot. But when it was freezing the last couple times I ran I found they were really nice to have. I'm one of those crazy people that runs in shorts until it snows...

Shoot. I didn't even think about my ears. I better just stay out of the pool until after the marathon on Sunday. I wanted to do something easy tomorrow morning that didn't require my legs. I guess I'll sleep in instead!

As you guys have seen, I go down to DC a lot and it's a 3.5 hour train ride on the regional. Philly is 1.5 hours. I haven't been to Richmond in years, so not sure the distance. I drive to DC a lot as well, but with the traffic it takes about 5 hours so I like the train, a bottle of wine and a classy styrofoam cup

Yeah, so I've been hearing. It just sounded so nice and relaxing after PT and more running/elliptical today. But I'm going to sleep later and maybe walk a bit tomorrow instead. I'll take the train to the corner of Central Park and walk to work from there rather than transfer.

I hate taper week and I hate it even more with a cold Plus my new Cervelo is sitting here calling my name, but I don't need to be hopping on there and engaging all those new muscles 6 days before a marathon!
