EPIC rain.....after two flats on the bike I finally got to the run.....just as the monsoon started.....blech!

Hope nobody else got bit by the "flat" bug but there seemed to be a TON of them.....

I just now noticed this but I got a Relay 2011 medal when I finished. Did that happen to anyone else?

I just looked closer at my medal and it says Relay 2011 as well.  I assume that is the wrong medal?  Anyone else that finished have a different medal?

Two flats here too.....how could that happen on those beautiful roads? The run was crazy.....still trying to dry my gear out! Computer says 4744 feet of climbing on the bike......a lot more than the 2900 that was advertised but an awesome bike course. Hard to say now.....but might just come back next year. Hope you all had fun on an unforgettable day.

Wow what a race!  Can not say enough about the volunteers and people of Branson!  Those little kids standing out in the epic downpours was very endearing.  Hats off to all who raced this awesome course and to Pro Devon Palmer.  His race was over on the bike course but he stayed out and helped age groupers change flats and even gave up his Zipp disk to someone who flatted!  On saturday few thought this race would happen but the organizers did a great job and pulled off another great race.

Seems that alot of the flats occurred from chips that got displaced from the rain.  The rain causes the rocks to stick to tires and work themselves in.  Most flats I have ever seen in a race.

They must have given you the wrong medal.  I looked at mine and it says Finisher 2011.

THIS!!

I'll be back.

Great swim venue, crazy fun/brutal bike course, excellent run.  Branson goes all out for sure.

There really is no way to say enough about the volunteers who stood out in a 1.5 hour DELUGE with smiles on their faces and ecouraging words for everyone.  Unreal.

Congrats to everyone that finished and to those that DNF! That was definitely the hardest race I have yet to have competed in. I too was one of those with a flat and I ended up by the grace of God finishing with a ripped tire only to be led into running the 13.1 through kiddie pools of water everywhere which was just fantastic. I'm quite thankful for the training bikes and runs in all elements of weather.

Ironman Branson 70.3 2011 The Redemption!

I am officially a finisher. I had an entore year to think about crossing that line after being a DNF last year, that I teared up a little while receiving my finishers medal!

Congrats to all that competed. I felt bad for all the flats I saw on the bike, I have been there and it sucks. Running in the rain just made the story that much better and I hit 53.1 mph on the extreme downhill, that is scary fast in my book!

I finsihed the course, now I never have to do that bike course again unless I want too!  LOL

I keep hearing about how epic this race was - congrats to everyone! Reminds me of a quote from Jordan Rapp's speech from the 2011 Ironman Canada Awards Banquet:

As much as we might curse the wind, and the heat, and the seemingly endless miles when we are out there on the day, those very things are what bind us to this race and also to each other. Nobody gets together over a beer and recounts war stories like, “hey, remember that time we ran a 5k in totally perfect conditions?”

I scratched myself from the race.  I was not feeling well so I headed back the night before the race.

I have a large race branded t-shirt, a branded headsweat hat, a race sticker, and the branded backpack with everything still inside for someone that did the race and wants to double up on the goodies.

I have no use for the items.  PM me if interested in the lot.

Congrats to everyone that finished Branson!     I did it last year.     Its quite the experience.        Not a course to PR at though!

Its the hardest 70.3  according to this site.  and I believe it!

What an amazing day! Prior to the race, my goal was to finish. After the race started my new goal was to not get struck by lightening on the bike leg, the storm started about mile 45. I have never been so scared in my whole life. We were pretty close to the clouds up there. I made the bike cut off by 5 minutes and was ready to stop, but my son told me to "run mom." I finally finished and I wasn't last!! Awesome experience, I can't wait until next year to do it again. Hopefully no rain.

Congrats Cheri!!!  That storm was epic and I can not even imagine what it must have been like to be on some of those downhills in that pouring rain.  Way to stick it out and finish strong.  Congrats again!

Anyone ever find out what was the total number of individual participants? All I see on the results page is each division breakout and I don't feel like going through each one
