The question is, can you do it while wearing all your clothes for extra drag.

Voila! Mission accomplished! Got my last swim in this morning 2400 M for a total of 15400. (goal 15000) And by the way Greg, summer is race season so I don't push to much on these challenges even this month I had to consider pools closed for X-Mas....... I had alot of fun, keep up the good work people! Go Canucks GO! James

Okay, I'm getting realy nervous about completing my swim goal. This week has been completely insane and outside of one day, I didn't have any chance to go to the pool. I have family coming in from Australia next week and we're spending the weekend doing all the last minute xmas shopping before they get here. With all the sight seeing and holidays, I'm not sure how I'm going to be able to get even one more swim in. I mean, I will definitely try, but it's going to be tough. Sorry team.

caius - do a double! I will seriously up your mileage. I plan on one for Wednesday.

Now team, I know I'm only 25% done, but I have 5 workouts planned this week. Don't worry.

Hey there all I had a light week last week but got out Sunday and picked up 2800mtrs so over 1/2 way there I have 3 swims planned this week, and will try a few doubles over Christmas break. I am now aiming to beat my distances for this challenge. Boy has this made a difference for me some real incentive to hit the pool again.

Go team Go!!!

So Fresh So Clean - 2006-12-16 1:18 PM The question is, can you do it while wearing all your clothes for extra drag.

When I was a scout leader we did canoe certifications and part of the course was swimming two lengths of the pool fully clothed with shoes etc, man was that different,I finished 1/2 a lap ahead of the rest of the group ( maybe I am a bit competitive...maybe )Laughing

Hey folks;

After being taken off track last week and being unable to find a pool (the river I was working on had 0.45m of ice cover... I made it back into the pool today. I'm going to try my best to fulfill my goal!!!!

Congrats to everyone else who has completed or are well on their way to meeting their goals!! Keep up the great work guys and gals!

Hi All,

I am suffering from some sort of allergic reaction so I have not been in the pool at all.  I'm hoping things clear up in the next few days and I'll finish my goal.

Spreadsheet Updated

Note - I have updated as of Sunday nights totals.  I know some of you (like me) got in a swim today (Monday) but todays distance is counted towards next weeks totals.

Some folks need some inspiring so please review the spreadsheet and start pushing your fellow teammate.

I'm looking to get approval to drop jonow6 (Jonathan).  He's been injured all month so hasn't logged any workouts in any sport.  I don't like to drop teammates but I also don't want someone to hurt themselves overtraining when they come back just to make their goal.

On a personal note - while I am behind where I should be - I have every intention of making my goal.

Wish you all a great week swimming!

Steve

Slightly suspected this might happen. I went to an alternate pool for a lunchtime swim only to find that one shut as well. I'm told it will be open on Thursday so I will give it a try then. That should leave me either one big swim or two small ones over the festive period.

Okay you Crazy Canucks - Today is Wednesday December 20th which means you should be 65% completed (20/31) by the end of today.

Roll Call - where are you at and will you make your goal?

I'm at 70% completed (9100 of 13000) and yes I will make my goal.

As of this morning I am 78% complete ( 11800m/15000m).

All I need is one more big swim to finish.  I already had my turn being sick this month.  I will complete and most probably do more than my goal.

I'm so close to being at the cutoff percentage!

As of my swim this morning I am at 58% of my goal of 12,000m.

I've checked out the pool near my house and it looks promising for me to get in a couple good swims here before the end of the year.

Of COURSE I'm going to meet my goal!!!

Two more swims scheduled next week after the pool reopens. That will take me over my goal (currently at 92%)

Go team go!

I am still having this allergic reaction.  I feel fine as long as I continue to take Benadryl, but I can't stay on it forever.  I should be able to finish my goal in one swim so I don't think it will be a problem as I'm not too busy over the holiddays

Excellent replies from everyone so far.  DRM posted the complete spreadsheet (all teams) in another thread.  I added a couple of formulas to check what percentage of each team is swimming at pace (checking each individual).  This was taken as of this past Sundays results.

% of Teammates Swimming at Pace

Crazy Canucks

70%

Mid Atlantic Crabs

67%

Carolina Curmudgeons

62%

Midwest Blizzards

58%

Pacific Ring of Fire

50%

Florida Fish

22%

Give yourselves a pat on the back you Crazy Canucks.

Well I think that I'm sitting pretty close to 50% right now.  I picked a pretty challenging goal for myself with so much going on this month but I think that I will get there.  I just need to get in the pool a few more times.  I'll do my best Canucks .

Steve ,

How many members are on each team.  I guess I could go into each thread and check it out myself but I'm just  thinking that  you might already have that info.

If I recall from last year the Florida Stinking Fish or the atlanta group only had a few members and once one of them finally updated ther log they jumped way ahead. Wondering if each team  have about the same number of people.
