So I ran tonight as soooon as I possibly could...but I was too late.  Got outside JUST as this huge storm blew in and started lightening etc. and I got home after 5 minutes justs in time to miss the big rain.  Booooo.

I love running in rain, lightning is even better. If that can't motivate you to run faster nothing can!

I'm back! Did yesterday's WOD this morning and the CFE WOD Tabta minus on the mill just now...got to love 4min runs!

gme nice program...good luck!

Welcome back! My normal swim with the tri-club was quasi cancelled today, the coaches didn't show up. We just did whatever we felt like so I decided to do the CFE workout. Trying to time out 10 sec on 5 sec off in a pool is tricky though, can't exactly be looking at my watch. I timed myself out on the first round and I made it about half way accross the pool (about 12.5m) so I decided to just swim half the pool as fast as I could for the work sets then count to 5 for the rest. I think it worked out pretty well, certainly not exact but close enough.

I like the half-length/5 sec rest thing.  I think I'll try that tonight.  Gonna try and make up the 800 forward/400 backward WOD too.

I think it would be good for cycling, it's kind of a pain to stop and start again so often for running and especially swimming though.

Grandy you're NUTS! =) I do NOT like running in lightning. Rain, fine. Lightning...I about pee my pants. =)

Today I did a CF workout with my peeps. =) Just 5 X 3 bench press. I tied my pr for weight, but not reps. That's okay for today. Max weight 85. I don't know if you KNOW this, but I don't uh...weigh 85...hahahaha...so I have a ways to go to get to my BW bench. =)

Yeah, but while you are peeing your pants you are also thinking, I better get my butt home FAST!!! It's a great motivator. I have only been out running in lightning once. Well, it didn't start as a run, but when you are climbing down from a mountain top on a completely exposed face and lightning storms come it turns into one real quick!

Nice job on the bench though, that's a solid number. Keep at it and your numbers for everything will keep getting better and better.

My workout this morning was 3 rounds for time of:
400m run
30 double unders
30 box jumps

time: 10:26

Planning on doing sprint intervals this evening when I get off work.

Um, me again.  =)  Back squat today, 7 X 3.  New PR at 120 (only 2 reps).  Woot woot!  =)

Tomorrow I'll rest and then Saturday I'mna run in a 5 mile race...which will be the longest distance I'll have run since ... about two years and two injuries ago.  =

Awesome job, you are a PR machine!

Today was my rest day from regular CF. Did the CF endurance workout on my bike though.
Workout was:
sprint/rest in seconds
10/60
10/50
10/40
10/30
10/20
10/10
10/20
10/30
10/40
10/50
10/60

Honestly, this workout was pretty easy, 10 seconds is not really enough time to completely gas yourself on a bike, and then there was usually quite a bit of rest time in between. Probably going to go for a run after work.

This morning's workout:

10 Thrusters (135lbs)
50 Double unders
8 Thrusters (135lbs)
40 Double unders
6 Thrusters (135lbs)
30 Double unders
4 Thrusters (135lbs)
20 Double unders
2 Thrusters (135lbs)
10 Double unders

time: 13:48

The thrusters were disgustingly hard, 135 was heavy!!!

I remember when I thought the thrusters were getting easier.  Now, after all this IM training I feel like even 95 pounds is heavy again.  I can't wait to get back to CF like I was doing in November and December.  When I felt tight and fit every day.

Nice workouts everyone.  TJ...that chipper thing sounds fun!!

I still can't do doubleunders, but I like the thruster/jumprope idea, I might try that tomorrow morning.

Thanks!   The story behind it is even more fun.  I love my red shiny shorts.

No, it's kind of an ongoing thing...

To paraphrase...last year when I was in my super CrossFit mode, and I went from 13% bodyfat down to 9, I put up an album called "Q's Progress to Fitness" to document the changes.  In one of my progress photos, I put on my red shiny pleather shorts and took a "hey look at me" picture.  It came out pretty good.  Got lots of funny comments about the shorts.  So from then on, they became my "trademark???" on BT.  For a while I was doing everything in the red shorts.  And then when I got my new carbon race wheels I took that avatar pic, but I had blue bike shorts on.  So I photoshopped the red shorts onto the pic.

There's another avatar pic I have of me in the red shorts that was just my chest, abs, and the shorts.  I actually got complaints from a few BTers when I took it down.  LOL

Doing double unders in a workout is nice to do every now and then, probably doesn't need to be in there very often but it has kind of a unique challenge to it in that you have to really be focusing on what you are doing, which is pretty dang hard when you are gased. It's deceptively tiring on your shoulders also!
