Oh crap.....I just wrote a big long reply and didn't answer any of the questions folks have asked so far in the thread.....so here goes....

I am originally from Scotland too, just like Triathlynne, and I now live in the sunny desert of New Mexico.

Favorite ice cream is probably.....hmmmmm.......any cold one.......and there is a Cold Stone about a 5 min walk from my work and that new peppermint patty one sounds good.

...looks like I might get both fitter and fatter this month on this team with all the food talk....

Just did my first tri last month and am training for an Oly in Sept with several other tri's and runs between now and then

I am married with 4 kids and a 5th on the way (I can't believe it either, but there you go)and come from a background of sitting around eating my wife's wonderful cooking and watching good movies....but all that has changed in the last 6 months.

And the way the post rate is going here I am sure we will all find out more about each other, weather we want to or not,  during this month

Hey Kenny!  I love coldstone! Oh goodness! And when you tip them! They dance! hahahhaha I love it.

So how long have you been in the States and what part of Scotland do you hail from?

I have a ColdStone within walking distance of my house. Thankfully I'm not a huge fan of spending more on ice cream than I am on gas!

I have been in the US for a little over 3 years. I moved here from Ireland (near Dublin) where I lived for about 4 years or so prior to that.

I am originally from just outside Paisley in Scotland. Went to school and University there.

I moved here for work and love it here. No plans to go back. Can't take the rain and cloudy depressing weather anymore. I love the desert......warm and dry.

How about you Lynne? Where in Scotland? What brought you this side of the pond?

where in New Mexico? I used to live in Quemado (big whopping town of maybe 35 ppl), Cloudcroft (elevation 8000 - gorgeous part of New Mexico), Grants and Gallup...was on a seismograph crew years ago back in the day when oil and gas was being searched for regularly...and I lived in forty of the fifty states! I now reside in Northern California..San Francisco Bay area.

I live in Rio Rancho, just north of Albuquerque and love it here. High desert, long open roads, hot days, warm evenings, cool nights and over 300 days of sunshine and about an hours drive to get to snow during the winter.....what more could you ask for. Coming from Scotland to NM was definitely a shock to the system, but after 3 years I am so used to it I can't imagine ever going back.

I agree about Cloudcroft. That is one of the most beautiful places I have been in NM and I am sure if you were training at 8000ft elevation it definitely made a difference when  you go back to sea level eh?

Sounds like you must be a fountain of knowledge about living just about anywhere in this country with all your moving and travelling.

I may be heading to Northern CA in late July so maybe I will have to hit you up for a few ideas of places to go since I have never been there before.

Hello again. I'm from East Kilbride! HAHAHA. So not far.  I've been here just over 10 years. I was originally an Au Pair then met my DH. Been here ever since.  Weather here is similar to Scotland as in it rains just as much but it makes the summers worth it.

Did somebody say that Nutella is healthier that peanut butter?

I do not have a label to look at.

THat trip to the store to pick up a jar or 4 is getting well into the planning stage now based on this team's inputs.

How about Nutella on top of vanilla ice cream?????....anyone tried it??????

That is all I can think of now as I am sat in a meeting at work about 20 mins before lunchtime......

Nutella has 11g of fat per  2 tspns

Peanut butter has 16g

Nutella has 21g of sugar

Peanut butter has 3g.  Eek.   Oh lets just mix them together and be done with it!

 YUM!

Nutella has more sugar and less protein, but no hydrogenated anything! So compared to regular peanut butter....

Skippy Natural PB - tastes better than Jiff and doesn't require any stirring! Yumminess.

So how about Nutella and Skippy Nat. PB on a Kashi waffle... that's my guilty pleasure snack.

Oh god that sounds good. I have been buying the ground peanut butter at the store. It's soooooo good.  Unsalted, no added sugar. Just mushed up peanuts. I love it.
