I'm going to apologize now if you like them.

I EFFING HATE COLUMBUS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

GAH!

Hate them if you will - but you have to agree that the Soccer Gods have been smiling on Columbus this year... the Fire (and everyone else) just ran smack into destiny, that's all...

Yeah, but that was only the Carling Cup.  Not that chuffed about it.  Just glad they were able to maintain points in the table with a thumping of Bolton.  Not too happy about Gerrard getting hurt though.  7-10 days out with a strained muscle in the right leg.

Yeah, yeah, yeah.  :PPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPP

Totally disgusted with the way we played in the second half.  No pressure at all.  It was like a totally different team.  Almost like they wanted to sit on the 1-0 lead.  We have let go so many games doing that this year.  You would have thought they would have won.

*sigh*  Oh well.  We still did quite a bit better this year than last.  And I'm pleased with that.

Shows you how much I pay attention to the USMNT, but I never realized that Adu had NEVER scored a goal before last nights match against Guatemala.

That shocked the heck out of me.

Nice to see England pull one out.

He's scored plenty at the U20 level - just not for the senior team.

It was a joy to watch the 'attacking' 4 play - Jozy, Big Kenny Cooper, Freddy, and Sacha.  They really moved well together, the passes, looks, runs, through balls, etc. were really something.  Gave me much hope for the future!

(...and yes, I know - it was only Guatemala)

Flippin hilarious.

I hate that yellow jersey.  I prefer this one. (Taken the day after Istanbul in 2005).

How in God's name do we NOT score a man up?

Adebayor was unlucky.  He didn't deserve the first yellow, but the second was definitely bookable.

Babel was useless. Again.

Kyut was almost invisible.

And we waited WAY too long to bring on el Zhar.

*sigh*

What a wasted opportunity.

How about "world class" Stevie G's miss! - he should have scored a couple....and a nice swan dive in the box to boot!...Referee ruined the game but overall I thought the game was poor - if 'pool keep playing like this they will end up third at best.

One that went over the post from Stevie was his fault.  Leaned too far back.  Shoulders weren't over the ball.

However, the cross from Kuyt was too hot and his feet just weren't long enough (one size larger shoe would have put it in) to put it past the goalie.

We should have continued attacking like we had to begin the second half.  We had Arsenal back on their heels but allowed the fans and the team to take us out of it.

Yeah, I wasn't impressed with the officiating.  Bout the only thing that can be said is that guy is big enough that I wouldn't want to make him mad.  Looks like he belongs in the UFC.

And finally.  If it weren't for Chelsea playing the Blue Noses tonight, I would have taken the draw yesterday.  But we needed the win.  At least we still have quite a few matches at home with the top tier.

Anyone catch the Fulham/Chelsea game? What a thrilling finish--except for Chelsea fans. It was cool to see an American, Dempsey, score two. The Reds pick up a couple points on their lead.

You bet your sweet bippy I watched it.  The wife and I are already big Dempsey fans.  And now even more so.  His first goal was nice, but the header was spectacular!

Anyone watching their respective matches this weekend?

I'm going to a pub to meet a local LFC Club for the first time tomorrow.  Guess they are fairly new.  Should be interesting.  Hopefully a good match.

ManU and Chelsea match this weekend too.  THAT should be interesting.  Hoping for a draw!
