Pecans,

I got injured after signing up the challenge, and I won't be running (and possibly not even walking) for a while. I asked Cynthia to take me out of the challenge, and I hope it won't hurt the team results at all.

I go back to doc on Monday. I hope to resume swimming soon, but right now it's not all that practical because I can't put any weight on my foot.

Good luck, everyone,
Susie

I ran a very difficult 10 mile race today!  It is called the South Mountain 10 Miler.  That name should have been my first clue!  The first 5 miles was all hills, including one HUGE mountain lasting almost a full mile!  My time sucked because I walked most of the mountain, but I got it done.  And it was a gorgeous morning!....30 miles completed for the month, 70 more to go!

Keep running Pecans!

CONGRATS to you too.

That is awesome.... It was difficult, but you made it through.... And I read you got a cool T-Shirt too! So all the pain was worth it!

So sorry to hear that. Don't worry about the team, Cynthia will figure out a fair way. Just make sure to get healthy again! Have a great Sunday and keep us posted how things are going for you.

Hey Pecans-

Looks like you're off to a good start on this challenge!  Be glad you don't have ME on your team... yes, I organized the challenge and promptly got injured so am barely keeping up appearances on my team!  I'm hopeful I'll be back to real running this week to be able to stay on the team and challenge!

I've dropped Susie from your team per her request - and the challenge rules. Remember each member needs to be at 30% by next weekend to stay with the team.

Best of luck earning your pie!

-Cynthia

Ran a hilly XC course on sidewalks , park road , suspended wood trail and grass . About 3+ miles . Followed up with 15 mins on the gym bike to cool down .

Legs acting a little weirded out , probably still fatigued from yesterday weight workout.

Some views from the run :

An artistic Metal statue above a  concrete    ditch  called Creek .

A little later  in  the hills  there are many Oil derricks  .

Do you carry a camera with you while you run?

I pulled those Pix  from google maps .

I certainly like looking at the  scenery  which is probably why i hate dreadmills so much .

   LOL

Hope everyone had a good weekend , And speedy recovery to Susie who leaves us

this week . Post your pictures and links to race reports if you have them .

Go Team !

Linda, huge congrats to you!!! Yay!

Susie, seriously bummed to hear you got injured. Also bummed you won't be with us for the challenge. Fingers crossed for a speedy and full recovery for you.

So can anyone see my new avatar? I had someone comment on it, so I guess some can. Maybe some people have to hit refresh? Weird glitch.

Congrats to the whole team for gettin' the run on - we are at 30.02% (out of 30%) right now - couldn't be much more dead-on! Some are way ahead, some are still catching up, hopefully we'll all pull through together!

Good morning Pecans,

Bummer... I think I actually have to get some work done today, so not a lot posting from my side.

2 mile walk this morning with the husband and then a 3 mile run this afternoon to catch myself back up.

I will probally do the same thing tomorrow because I am getting lasik on Thursday. BUT have no fear (hahaha I always wanted to say that) I am planning on running 3 miles that morning and then I won't be able to run again till sometime next week but can walk...so I will be a walking machine.

Also, because of this I lowered my target miles ( I hope this is ok, if not I can change it back)

Can you check with Cynthia how to do that??? I don't know how she wants to handle it and honestly I still have so little experience with challenges that I don't know, what the "normal" way is.

Good luck for your lasik... I am sure, you are very excited about it.

What is a realistic timeframe in your opinion?? From running 5K comfortably to being able to complete a half marathon?
