My sister in law baby gated EVERY set of stairs in her house, and my nephew didn't learn how to WALK UP AND DOWN STAIRS until he was THREE. That, kids, is absurd. But I nannied for years - you don't think I don't know ANYTHING about babies and small children!?! All of the kids I cared for were under 5, and a few were infants when I first got to them. Yes, parents are ridiculous these days - I saw it all the time with the people I worked for. |

Parents are so afraid they coddle kids way too much. my ex-boyfriend's son, who was 6 or 7 at the time, needed his mom or grandma to wipe his a$$ after he went #2. when we had the kids the first time bailey expected me to do that i said HTFU you're a big boy now, wipe your own $hit (without all the sweaing, i'm not THAT mom-gene-less) his daughter who was 3 was getting chronic UTIs. i noticed in the bathroom she was wiping from back to front and maybe this was the cause. when i told her mom she was like "no there's nothing wrong with that, that couldn't possibly be the issue." really? cause i think fecal bacteria can cause a UTI. |
