Out running or enjoying a fine glass of red...
Subject: RE: Rabobank
Happy Tuesday, everyone!

I got a PR for a standalone 5K run last night...it has been 3 years since I did one (and my first half of a 10K earlier this year was faster than my 5K last night)...but still, it's a PR. They also run the same race for the next 2 Monday's, so I'll have a chance to try to better that time.

Riding today - I'm going to put the trainer in front of the TV and watch some TTT coverage.

Hi, All!

I know a few of you folks (including mentor extraordinaire, Queen Zeeee!) but for those who don't know me, I'm Mina.  Did my first sprint in May, second in June, and training toward an Oly at the end of August-- just pulled the trigger on the rego last week, so figured I really need to up my biking and fast!

Goals so far are 8 stages + 120 mi, but might up that... not sure yet.

Oh, and got Stage 1 done (a little on the short side, but good) while I was in Maine for the 4th of July weekend.  Before doing a 10k leg of a 60+ mi road race around Mt. Desert Island on the 4th with 5 friends, I rode by myself just under 12mi from my campsite to the start of my leg.  It was a LOT more hilly than I thought it would be, so I took it at moderate intensity so I didn't kill my legs for the run... and even though it was rainy it was a beautifully scenic ride around the island.

I want to go back and ride there and through Acadia - GORGEOUS!

Hey team, I got Stage 2 in today, a little over 18 miles, while watching Stage 2 on the DVR! I actually look forward to trainer rides in July I'll update the spreadsheet later, crazy day at work with zero BT time. Bastages...

I did this morning! I have an ugly swim on tap for tonight, another 3000+. I'm getting so sick of these long boring swims and have many more to go....

Do you at least get out in OW for them?  Pool is feeling like being on a drainer or a dreadmill for me, but I don't get bored in OW.

I was planning on meeting a training group at 5:45 this morning for a bike-swim-bike, but being that I just got back from camping late last night, I needed to catch up on some time in a real bed and just snooze-buttoned my way to Almost Late For Work.   Going to try for an hour spin class at the gym tonight to redeem myself since it's rainy out which I'll ballpark at 14.5mi.

Sounds like a nice ride (and fun race).  Wish I had some nice scenery around here.  Lots and lots of cornfields.

Ugh!  Once you get over 3000 those swims just get awful.  Good luck with that.

Cornfields are likely better than some of the city riding I try to do.  Even if there were scenery, I'm too busy dodging cars trying to get to some open road.

YEP! A little scared already, tho.  Swim's no problem... but that's where the confidence begins and ends.  Time to get working, I guess!!

Race was VERY fun.  That's the only relay I've ever done and it was a blast!  Made me actually excited to run again (even though I'm awful at it!)  These were the team batons below:  (we were the one all the way on the right... I think my teammate Ray took 'er home.)

You can do it!  My first Oly was painful but I survived.  And ended up more motivated than before the race.  I have another coming up in August - we'll see if it goes a little smoother than the first.
