I just picked up my packet.  Be sure to know your race number ahead of time to avoid the lines at the computer to look them up.

not even so much the cold as the winds that'll hit you on the bike.  Never thought i'd think about "wind chill" in august.  I don't mind running in chilly weather but i'm packing a warm weather set of gear in case when i get to the bike it's more chilly than I expect.

keep in mind it should warm up through the day so plan to be able to easily shed cold weather layers.

My friend and I are heading to the expo tomorrow (practically today now!) around 11a or noon and spending the day downtown.  Us girls from the suburbs get all excited about being downtown.  We booked a room at the Hilton tomorrow night to make things easy.

Tony - did you ever get a "real" flag or should we still be looking for the Dallas Cowboy flag?

I am so very excited/nervous/anxious.

GOOD LUCK EVERYONE!

i plan on just peeking in quickly to the expo to pick up my stuff and buy a few things.  Wont be able to hang around too much today but i'll be looking out for the cowboy's flag sunday morning.

Would this tent be a good place to take off layers i'm wearing to keep warm after transition closes and my swim wave beings?

See you folks tomorrow!

I just wanted to wish everyone good luck in tomorrow's race.  It should be a great event with or without the weather/water issues.  Hopefully it gets some good press for a change.

I am trying to do some of my preparation tonight. Anybody know which sticker goes on the helmet and which one goes on the bike? They are similar except one of the stickers has four numbers and one has five (the first digit being zero then the 4 digit race number).

Amen to that!! I think it was even warmer than 86 by the time I hit mile 2....running directly into the sun!

The guy at the "course talks" this morning wasn't exactly sure either (someone asked him that very question) he thought  the one with five #'s went on your helmet and the other on the bike.....needless to say, that's how I installed them....if it's wrong I'll blame that guy!!

I was going to guess the opposite. Perhaps it does not make a difference. Otherwise they should clarify it on the web site.

Both of my stickers only have 4#s. The guy at the course talk said it doesn't matter which one goes on the helmet and which one goes on the bike.  He did say that the sticker on the bike should be viewable from the right side however.
Good luck tomorrow everyone!

i read that right as i placed on the left side... oh well, i'll see what the majority of people are doing tomorrow and adjust as neccesary.

This was my first Tri (I did the sprint distance).  I had no idea what it would be like, but I loved it and now I'm hooked.

My biggest mistake? Not getting a wetsuit.  HOLY SCHNIKES was it cold in the water with just shorts.

Everybody sold out of rentals. I saw TONS of people buying new suits on Saturday at the expo.

I bought one just because Element Multisport had them on sale for a really good price.

so i never found the BT tent with the dallas cowboy flag and the chicago fire flag.  Were you guys set up between the swim start and the transition? I walked for a while and never saw it set up.  Maybe next time i'll meet you guys.

Yes we were. Apparently we were well-hidden because nobody found it! Well only a couple of people strolled by. I thought there was going to be a big BT contingent in and out all day but only like two people stopped by.

I was one of those people buying a wetsuit on Saturday. I'm glad I did, I wasn't cold at all in the water.

Dang Tony.....I was there around 4am and must have walked by the transition area (just south) at least 3 times.  Oh well, I guess maybe next year!
