skarl - 2009-11-12 8:13 AM I've actually never ridden when temps were under 40*, except the one time temps dropped during the ride and it started snowing -- my knee was pissed for weeks. Guess I'll have to wear windpants over my winter tights this weekend. And a facemask? How do you do it Bill?! It's supposed to be mid-30s and snowy. Probably need to ride the fat tires too, eh?
Susan I have so many different layers it isn't funny. Balaclava and a hat on top of that
(under 30 or windy
), bike shorts, tights, then wind pants on top of that
(type depending on temperature
), boot covers
(under 35 generally unless it is wet out!
), and upper is all dependent on temperature and moisture.
Definitely fat tires for here on out - until Spring. I ride SS sometimes
(if the roads are clear only
) and have a blast.
It is like when you were a kid and playing in the rain - only now people think we are crazy and we get funny looks!
Supposed to remain nice this weekend - heading to NV/CA next weekend maybe I can score some points then!
Tnx Bill! We've been lucky the last couple winters -- rode almost every weekend and temps were never below 40.
