Thanks Stacie! motivation, TOM. what? the big hug and sloppy kisses or all the talk of a well deserved hamburger?? LOL. stacieb Now that you mention it, all of the above. A burger with some avocado sounds awfully tasty right now... now. see. i thought was all about me. and my hugs and kisses. playing 2nd fiddle to a hamburger with some avocado on top no less. i see how you are. pffft. stacieb If you consider the fact that the hamburger was your idea, then it was about you! oh yeah, your right TOM. the hamburger WAS my idea. so it IS all about ME, thanks for clearing that up..... stacieb Edited by skrtrnr 2009-10-20 6:58 PM |

What a great cheerleader I have turned out to be so Bill...I missed what the doctor said in all this silliness this morning! soooo what is the verdict from your chiro??? I believe you called it - ITB and bad. 4-6 weeks off of running. Can still ride but no cross because of the dismounts, running, jumping, and remounts. Got the foam roller last night and have been working it already and it hurts like a mother in case I have not mentioned it yet today (which I have about 4-5 different times already ) I did not think it was ITB because it never hurt my knee and that is what I have always heard about ITB. But now I know and now I rest - bleck! when its all the way down in the knee, you've got a severe case of ITBs....at least thats what my chiro said. i asked the same question, since my ITB has been cranky going on two weeks, and im only feeling it in my hip...and my glute....and my back. man i need to get off the road, running. tearin' me up something fierce. stacieb that is why I prefer to run dirt trails or next to the path on the dirt. I would run around the track but that is SUPER monotonous tome! I would rather jump off a bridge! not the ones by you though Tom...so your safe! We have this packed gravel/sand next to the path that is my favorite to run on. |

HAPPY DANCE HAPPY DANCE HAPPY DANCE. got out for my MUCH anticipated 12 miler! YAHOOEY. i was running at great clip felt maaaaahhhhhvelous. up until the last bit, and i kept looking at my watch, and i wasnt at the end, and im thinking somethings off.... i rearranged my route today so that i could stick closer to home w my son being home and all...and based on the 'data' that collected yesturday (my 45 min drive ACK!!!) i thought i had a 6 mile out and back route mapped out.... i get home, plug the info into my blog and the pace was WAY off, SUCKISHLY slow. i didnt feel suckishly slow, until i hit the part in the run where i started thinking this taking too damn long. sure enough, i OVER RAN MY RUN TODAY BY ALMOST AN ENTIRE MILE. eight 10ths be exact. boo for me, though now im good and ready for my 1/2...but YAYAYAYAYAYAYAYAYAY FOR THE GHOULIES. i just updated the spreadsheet and im at 69 something something percent, even w two more runs to do this week -including a 10 miler on Saturday. WELL SCHAAZAM. ill surely 'suffer' for the team, SUCK IT UP and run an extra 8 10ths. LOL. stacie. ps. thanks for all the well wishes for my son. his fever broke, i bought him a Mt. Dew which he promptly downed, hes feeling MUCH better. Mt. Dew. the magic elixir. good job...did you run a different route? and where is that garmin? soon you will be a half marathon mom! kiu!!! sorry the midget is sick...is this round two? or did this one not catch it the first round!?? i did run a different route than what i planned out, well part of the route i planned out. my oldest son was home sick, so i wanted to stick closer to home, so instead of doing the 12 mile loop that i orginally planned to do, i just did a 6 mile out and back...at least i thought it was a 6 mile out and back. turns out it was 6.4 mile out and back. LOL. yay. and where the hell is that GARMIN. Damn Claus. late as usual. pffft. 1/2 marathon mom has a very nice ring to it! as for the midget, first round w the oldest. he dodged the bullet the first round, somehow. but then went down last night cough fever. same symptoms, different day. 3/5 have had it so far. ive been sick once this season so im hoping to avoid this new round altogether. im bettin' my DH gets it next. and he's a BIG HUGE BABY when he's sick WAY worse than the kids are...... just so he's not sick on Nov 1st/on my 1/2 Mary day....im just sayin' stacieb Nice job on the extra .8 and I hope, really hope, that your prediction is dead wrong. |

IN FACT. I like this idea! Since I'm not following a plan right now and basically just running however the heck far I please when I head out the door I think I'll throw in a few intervals for good measure. And maybe when I'm starting on the homestretch home, I'll make a turn and do an extra block or two. there you go NEAL. sloppy kisses and a huge hug upon your arrival, home. stacieb Awww, thanks Stacie. Much needed after a less than stellar run. |

Champion 10742 Ames, IA | Subject: RE: Show us your Ghoulies - Halloween Run Challenge Page #3 aspeelma - 2009-10-20 5:50 PM **** Consumer Product Alert Ghoulies ****I wear orthotics so before I run I have to lube up my feet before I run or else I get blisters on the bottoms of my feet. I typically use Body Glide which works pretty well. I was out of BG so I decided I'd try some Band-Aid Friction Block that I had in my camelbak for hiking. It did not work well at all. I have a blister on the arch and the top of my right foot and on the ball of my left foot. I will be stopping tomorrow to pick up some more BG before I go out running. The Band-Aid brand stuff didn't go on nearly as well as the BG and I even questioned it in my mind before I went running.Take care of those feet Ghoulies!!! Thanks for the heads up. I usually use BG or a product called sportslick (which I actually prefer) but I've been known to try new things. I'll try and remember to stay away from that one. |
