tri808 - 2010-03-02 3:08 PM I haven't had girl scout cookies in a while...but I remember those peanut butter ones...

Anything chocolate chip is a death trap for me.

Those peanut butter ones are great.

Somehow the other day at the grocery store I mustered the willpower to walk past the girl scouts selling cookies there.  Still not sure how I did it.

You MONSTER!!!!!  How could you possible walk past those girls???!!!!

Too funny!

MMMmmm... COOOKIE!!!
I'm looking forward to the new "berry" cookie or other they came out with this year.

The new cranberry ones - thanks a bunch munch are very good. But I am torn between thin mints and the tag a longs (peanut butter covered in chocolate) as my favorites.

Good morning Westies...

I did a run, and core for goals yesterday and a walk with hubby (not a goal) just to get out and enjoy the day...

Today is a bike on the schedule but may also run if Hubby runs so I don't have to run on friday when I travel to chicago.  We will see what happens.

mchally - 2010-03-02 10:26 PM So I went swimming today...is it weird that I really love pulling?

I was going to do a 500 yard pull and as I neared the end I decided to make it a 750.  As I neared 750 yards I decided to make it an even Mile.  As I approached a mile I decided that 2000 yards would make a nice round number.  I was considering making it 2500 yards, but the pool was going to close soon and I wanted to have time to shower.

Anyway, I put in a 4900 yard swim.  I think that is the longest swim workout I've ever done.

Good Golly!!!!

I was talking to a "swimmer" in the shower today (is that wrong to say?) and I asked how for his typical workout is and he does 4-5K a workout (I see him 3-4x a week).  I asked him if he grew up swimming and said no he just learned about 8-9 years ago when the Y pool opened up.  I was floored.

Gives me hope!

Tomorrow I am stoked about my 2400 yard workout I have a schedule for - that will be a record for me by a long shot (even if I make it 1/2 way that will be the longest I have gone in over 1 year!)

Good luck tomorrow!!   I didn't know you got stoked about any workouts except bikes!!  Wink

brick94513 - 2010-03-02 5:15 PM I'm riding a Titus Motolite II.  I built the bike myself.  Absolutely love it!

Yes, I prefer an Xterra over a traditional tri anyday.  I just wish I could find a HIM distance off-road tri.  Now that would be wonderful....

Nice on the bike.  I am getting ready to build a cross/touring/gravel bike up with the help of my LBS.  Very stoked about that!

A new 29'er full suspension is on the list but not until next year!

HIM Xterra - man that is sick - that would hurt something fierce!!!!

I'm pretty sure there's one out here in Utah (Ogden, Ut)
We're not THAT far from Cali

If you find it, PLEASE let me know.  My primary goal for 2010 is to qualify for XTERRA Nationals in Park City, UT.

On another note, I love riding in UT.  I made it to Moab last year, but missed Park City.  It was a family trip and had to get north to Brigham City, so we could see the Golden Spike Monument first thing in the morning.  Either late this year or early next year, I'm going to do the 142 mile ride from Loma, CO to Moab, UT on the Kokopelli Trail.  I would really like to tackle it self-supported, but might opt for assistance of a LBS the first time.

I LOVE mountain biking! Moving has really put a bite in my riding time. I used to be able to stop on my way home from work during the week and would often do a 20 mile ride through the mountains (up to over 10k feet and back down) on Saturday mornings and be home before noon. Now it takes me almost two hours to meet up and shuttle to the trail head. Its been too long since I've had a good ride on my mt bike.

You didn't just say shuttle did you???

Let me know if you want any company!  I hit Moab for about 4 hours on the way from Salt Lake City to Albuquerque and definitely want to do Kokopelli!

I was looking to do this self-supported, but then found out there is no water anywhere on the trail.  I found a LBS that does a four-day supported ride for very reasonable expense, but they only do the ride in April and May.  So, I might try the Paradox Trail later this year and attempt the Kokopelli next year.  That is, when I can arrange time around everything involving family, kids travel baseball, races, etc, etc, etc....  Always looking for company!

Scheduled or emergency Smile
Scheduled quarterly P/T conferences but the timing is perfect. My son is getting toward the end of his senior year and is having some other struggles so his grades have dropped a little. Need to see if there is something he can do to bring them back up. Don't want him to lose those scholarships he was offered.
Crazy thing on scholarships. The school with the highest rank is the cheapest, even without a scholarship. The school that offered the biggest scholarship (36k over 4 years) is still the most expensive. In six months this will all be over and he'll be off to school. It will be nice to have the school applications, etc over but we'll miss him.

The trail goes up one canyon, follows the ridge across and down another canyon. We would meet half way between the two canyons, load up a truck and drive up to the trail head. We do our 20 mile ride, then have to drive back up to get the truck. I used to live right by where we would meet so it wasn't too bad. Now when you add the two hours before and two hours after, it pretty much takes up the whole day. Plus most of my riding buddies also finished school and moved off for jobs around the country.

Hi team

A little late reporting in but I am here now

My goal for the month is to run 200km. My running is a bit down at the moment and I need to get back at it. Unfortunately in my indoor duathlon last week (swim/run) I got 2 huge blisters one under each foot Running bare feet in wet shoes was not a smart move.

But I will just (try to) power through it
