ironannekidd - 2010-03-24 12:45 PM I wonder how many pages the bEASTies would have if you weren't posting there Bill.

Sorry I missed this Ann(e) - I don't post too much over there - just enough to keep you guys on your toes!

Glad I have because billsorg and I are doing a 60 mile cross race together - so that should be fun!

You bEASTies are alright - just behind Ghoulies and TWISTER's!

Is that the race in Carlisle?

Yeppers - where you are bringing up lunch Remember! LOL

You don't want to take your Tri bike on that course (from what I heard about it!)

You may be racing during lunchtime. I will take you to dinner though.

I know where the race is. I can come Sherpa for you. It's not actually in Carlisle, it's actually a couple of miles south. Sort of in the middle of nowhere.

Yes that is what I heard - I am figuring 6 hours minimum to finish - most likely 8 - think I might be tired at the end???? - lol

So what you're saying is I'll have to carry you out of there?

I could throw you in the lake. For uh... recovery. Yes, throw you in the lake for recovery.

Free Ice Bath - yes!!!!

And I will stand on the shore holding a towel for you

Just like the movies   But be warned shrinkage could happen

wgraves7582 - 2010-03-24 2:50 PM I just want you to be forewarned - long bike/cold water = small extrusions - but I am sure they could grow back quickly under the proper circumstance Innocent

Bill - I would not want you to freeze. I would warm you up.

AFTERNOON ALMOST EVENING GHOULIES.

had super fantabulous day.

1 mile on the TM, 1 mile on the indoor track, 3 miles out with my friend.

ive been hesitant to do any running outdoors what w my cranky hip.  im coming to the end of my sports management program so i wont have the 'luxury' of weekly chiro adjustments and cold laser.  and i know on my Y salary i wont be able to afford going on a regular basis.  so im just not sure what the future will hold in that respect.

all that to say, todays 3 miler on pavement went relatively well/painfree.  it was only when we were climbing hills that i felt it in my hip not bad enough to stop just felt it enough to notice.

i wont have to worry come my tri in June, according to my friend there are no hills on the course.

....speaking of which.

i thought through my Sprint Oly decision, my friend was a decent sounding board, though i wish he would've given a little bit more feedback....

thanks ANNE, NEAL, BILL for yours.

im gonna go ahead and register for the Sprint, knowing that i could do one today if i had to, and that i wont have to amp up my training.

should i start to feel like i can bump up my training over the next few weeks, i can register for the Olympic distance as late as the day before the event.

my friend has done this tri 15 times and he said registration never closes.

its a BIG relief to know that i dont have to make the decision now....that it can be a wait and see.

i just dont know what the next two months are going to be like.  i know that i will be better than fine though im sure to have my moments/days, i have the most SPECTACULAR support system (im COUNTING ON YOU GHOULIES...AS WELL AS ALL MY OTHER PEEPS)

im certain there will be a huge relief once everything moves forward, but i know that the transition is bound to have an affect on the kids once it 'really' happens.  i just want to make sure that have all the time/attention/energy i can at my disposal to be there/help them through everything.

its not gonna be easy, but were gonna be fine.

its good to have that decision 'made'.

now i can just focus on maintaining my current training levels, get my bike back from the LBS, get in some decent 15-20 mile rides, 1-2 OWSs and i'll be ready to rock n roll come June.

thanks Ghoulies, i really appreciate your feedback.

Hi Gouhls. I did find out today that my vitamin D levels are low. Everything else that has come back so far is normal. One last test to come back--the overnight pulse oximetry test. For now I am on prescription-strength vitamin D supplements for 3 months.
Anybody have any knowledge/insight into vitamin D defficiency? Could this be why I am so tired, forgetful, and gaining weight?

wgraves7582 - 2010-03-24 6:09 PM Commute home was great - some dingbat thought he should drive by as close as possible so I caught him at the red light and purposely kept pushing further out into his lane just so he got the hint.  Give me a break moron - you are not that important!

Went the Long Way Home (Who sang it??? - Supertramp oh yeah) Take the long way take the long way home - who is the rockstar now??????) and got 25 miles in instead of 19.  Even had pizza and a muffin on the way home - TransIowa training

See you guys tomorrow!

Sounds great, Bill! Nice job with the  very non-rockstar dingbat.

Good evening Ghoulies!

I had a disappointing attempt at a run earlier.

I was barely down the road and I was having a lot of pain in my knee so I turned around and walked home. This was very discouraging.

Right now I'm down, but I'm not out yet. I took the night off to sulk and come up with a new plan.

I think I'm going to go get my new bike tomorrow after work, then swim on the way home. I will get a couple swims in over the next few days.

On Sunday I am going to drive to the park. They have a running trail there that is relatively flat and not hard asphalt. I live on a hill so either way I go at the end of the driveway is down hill. I will wait a few more days then try running on a flatter, softer surface and see how that goes.

Have a good evening all.

Good evening Ghoulies. I had a VERY busy day at work today so I had to postpone my big swim for the week, but I should be able to make it up Friday.

Now it's time to attempt to catch up on today's events followed by chilling out with the kids and some Mythbusters.

ceilidh - 2010-03-24 9:57 AM So what's our April Challenge going to be? Anne, you had one up your sleeve, didn't you?

I was thinking an Ironman challenge

Swim 2.4 miles
Bike 112 miles
Run 26.2 miles

during the month.

I would like to say I can do this 3 times, once a week leaving the last week a bit easier right before my HM.

I'm all for this! I doubt I can triple these numbers, but I think I can make a decent push at a double. I'll need to check the training calendar to see for sure.

Did you ever see the movie The Office Space?

I feel like having you bring me a fish and cutting it up and putting it in people’s trash can at work!  I would take my cube apart but I can look outside and see the weather so I am happy there.

I don’t like stealing money so that is no good either.

Yep – just the fish thing – Oh and the fax destruction part – beautiful.  I could do that to my phone maybe.  But it never rings.  So maybe it doesn’t work – LOL

Alright that is what I do when I go outside at lunch – I get like I need to break out – I saw my bike, I see the sky, I think escape.  Do you think anyone would miss me?  I am Cost Seg afterall!

Go back to work – sorry this is pure ramblings!

I have never seen it, but it is on the list of movies I'd like to see.

I have read the quotes on IMDB.

It is set in the private sector, but I guarantee you will appreciate it.

Ann, thoughts from two long suffering knees.  "Please, oh please, give us flat terrain to run on while we recover.  Hills, up or down, are painful and we just can't please you the way we'd like.  A softer terrain is also something we love, love, love.  We want to be there for you.  Just help us out while we heal."  Signed, Kim's knees on behalf of Ann's.
