mbasta - 2010-10-12 8:45 AM I have my rough jots notes typed into Word. Sorry for doing this here but it's keeping me accountable. Today is the day I will at least have a decent teaching philosophy rough draft done.

What's on the menu for everyone's training today?

Sounds like FUN, Melissa...  Good luck!

Run on tap for me today.  Not sure how long it will be though -  It's a dance class night, so I need to get out of here early.

Also, I swear...  my workouts have been getting worse and worse...  I feel like I haven't had an ounce of energy to put into any of them since my last race in September.  I should have recovered by now!  I somehow dragged my undertrained body through an Oly and now can't seem to find the energy to run a couple miles.  So frustrating!!

Have you taken a break since your Oly? Maybe a little burned out?

What kind of dance? I love dancing but I'm not very good at it.

My daughters are actually the ones dancing, but I get to practice with them at home.  Which is, quite honestly, pretty hilarious because I have NO rhythm whatsoever.  But my almost 6 year old takes ballet, tap and then jazz/hiphop.  My almost 4 year old just takes ballet and tap.

billsorg - 2010-10-12 9:04 AM Good morning Anti-Ghoulie Establishment...
This is by far the most prolific posting team I've ever been on.  I've given up trying to keep up!  Very impressive.  I wish I wasn't so busy at work (yuck!) so I could join in some of the fun.  Run planned for lunchtime today.  I hope everyone's having a great day!

Definitely YUCK!  We're more fun...  Tongue out  Although, I should probably go do some of that work stuff too...

I took days off and have not been real consistent since then.  Trying not to force myself to SBR all the time.  And definitely not forcing any kind of distance.  Maybe it's just that I've been stuck inside so much lately.

I agree with not SBR all of the time, but in my case I should be getting back to swim and bike more consistently again soon. I've been concentrating on running since I started and it's my preferred component because of convenience. Plus, I used to be very out of shape aerobically and pretty much unable to run so I still get excited when I go a bit faster or further. There's a lot of space for improvement when you start at the bottom!

LOL - this is me EVERY spring.  I am just not a runner...  I find it absolute torture, but I keep plodding along, hoping it will click someday.  But without fail, every winter...  my running tapers off to sporadic jaunts through the snow and I have to start back at the beginning when I officially start training for a race.  This winter I am DETERMINED to have some sort of base come April.

I am determined not to run any less than 3 days a week because I don't want to go through the run start up again. Every time I ran for the first month I felt nauseous! No more! I will just have to maintain (or improve) my current aerobic fitness forever now.

mbasta - 2010-10-12 6:36 AM Goodmorning everyone! I was rocked out of my bed at 5am with worries of the future concerning employment... That's always healthy.

Minimum wage here is 10.50 and most of the Kinesiologist jobs I have found offer 12-14 and I've got two degrees and 1.5 years of experience. That's sick. I have to break into the not-hiring education feild to prevent becoming stangnant and get a fair wage.

Today I'm putting together my teaching portfolio to get me back on track. Something that I've been procrastination about, which is why I'm telling you. It's a lot of work and the motivation is suffering since I've been job hunting for almost 5 months.

best of luck Melissa!  I am grateful for my job even though it is not my favorite by any means.

Thanks Bill! I am sitting here trying to work my notes into a comprehensible document (philosophy of education). I have a few sentances, but they never seem to be good enough. I wish I could turn off the perfectionist/Type A for awhile.

Send them to me and I will do it - I tell people I am Type Z

Type Z? Is that the kind that sleeps all the time?

Goodmorning! Have a good run.

As everyone else said, no need to keep up - just jump in. I think I might be the only one that checks all of the missed posts, but as mentioned above - type A and as also mentioned above - lots of time on my hands. Plus, I put many of the posts there, so I don't need to read through those!

Oh you're not the only one that checks all the posts.

It is my self-diagnosed term to be as far opposite ot Type A - guess it could be Type M

Is the type M for megalomaniac?

Great evening if you saw what was for dinner/dessert! It was a nice night with some friends. I love to cook and they don't object to my cooking, it's a good system.

I was a bad boy last night. I didn't get any training in. I got home from work and had some sprinklers to fix and it took longer than I thought. Then my wife got home and we had dinner, then I thought I should spend some time with my wife since she's been out of town for a week. I know, there's always an excuse. I am determined that there won't be tonight though. I will get in at least a run and if I can finish up work before it gets too dark I will go for a ride first. I will get 100% of my training goal this month.

Type Z!  I love it.  My mom used to joke that if I was any more laid back I wouldn't have a heartbeat.  I'm surprised that I fell into such a Type A sport.
