I desperately needed sleep this morning......but did manage to swim 30 min in my back yard pool before starting work.  Not a whole lot of yardage, but it counts Tongue out

My oldest son did his first triathlon this weekend before my race.  His race consisted of a 50 yard OWS, 4 mile bike, and 1 mile run.  He did great and actually had some very quick transitions.  I'm very proud of him.  The best part, when the race was over, he asked, "when can I do another triathlon?"

Congrats to your son!

Sorry I haven't been around much... Life's been pretty hectic and then I ended up getting sick last week (I'll adjust my goals for this).  I start work tomorrow I'm hoping to get more consistent in my workouts.  I've done pretty well with my workout DVDs but need to start running and biking regularly again.  I need to update the spreadsheet as well.  I'm also looking at joining a gym soon.  I may be going to the Clemson University's gym as they have pretty good rates for alumni but I haven't decided yet.  I'm off to go see Transformers in theaters and have lunch with my parents and James before heading back to Clemson this afternoon.  Hope everyone's had a good weekend!

Quick update.  I finished my sprint tri today.  I do better every year at this race.  (This is the 6th time I've done it.)  I got 2nd of 26 in my age group, 45th of 301 total participants, 7th of 164 women, and 2nd fastest women's bike split (20.2 mph)!  I missed the fastest women's bike split by 10 measly seconds!  I really need to get my hands on some race wheels!  Race report coming soon! Laughing

I had a most awesome run this morning.  3.5 miles and only a few aches early on (legs are tired from all the standing around I did volunteering at the sprint yesterday)

Well, I know I've been missing for a few days but I was out of town for my brother's wedding.  It was beautiful and lots of fun was had by all!  Both of my girls were flower girls, and here's a picture from the weekend.

As a reality side note - I did get in an awesome ride while I was there.  I have some running to make up.  And I need to get my rear in the pool before I head to Chincoteague for vacation on Saturday.

How was your dress though? Are we going to get to see any photos of you at the wedding?

Geez!  Back home at sea level.  My chest hurts from breathing hard while racing at 4000 feet elevation higher than I'm accustomed to!  Living a sea level is killing me!  I need to move back there!  I DO miss the snow.

I still haven't done the race report but I wanted to tell you that I shaved at least 4 minutes off my time from last year!  I'm so excited!  Whoopee!!!!

Got my buoyant tushy in the pool today!  Swim and bike goals are looking great.  Running, not so much...  I guess I know what I'm going to be doing on vacation next week.

Edited because I can't spell.

Wow, you've always been cute in your avvie but it's kinda hard to see--you are drop-dead gorgeous! And you must be older than you look, unless you had your girls when you were a teenager. And you've clearly passed your genes on well.

Of course, it's remotely possible that you're kinda ugly but REEEEEAAAAALLLY photogenic and/or somehow photoshopped a lovely Hollywood blond head with perfectly even features onto a very nice body.

Me too. I am sure the boys will be thrilled with my buoyancy ... I think I'll be making like 1000% of my swim goal and about 10% each of my run and ride.

well, see, I expected to be at peak training for a HIM this month ... I didn't expect to fall madly in love with marathon swimming and adjust my tri training to the level appropriate for completing a sprint.
