OK. So Team Canada is the team to beat? I got another challenge. Beat my last single swim. Ready?

6300 Meters. 4000 in one set.

I've drawn a line in the sand. Anyone dare to step over it?

Interesting that he is challenging us to 6300 meters when it was 6300 yards that he swam (not that 6300 yards is not respectable). 6300 yards = 5,760 meters.

Am I up to the challenge in meters or yards - nope....

My log shows yards (I'm trying to figure out how to change it to meters). I really mean this; if I can do this, so can you. The most I swam this year was 1.5 miles this summer at my peak of training. 2 months ago I couldn't really do a 500. The secret is a smooth long stroke.

Wow, it's been a while... I haven't done a double this week yet, and I should always do one each week. That's exams for you. I haven't hit the high mileage since last tuesday (7.3k). There was a time in october where I went 6.0k in the morning, then 3.5k in the afternoon - 9.5k total... we just don't have more than 2 hours of pool time to work with. But who knows? Maybe during christmas training we'll do that 100x100m set??

If it's largest distance you want to compete, I'm out of that competition. I just do what my coaches suggest - my races are 4 minutes long. However, I'm sure over christmas holidays I'll post workout(s) you'll be afraid of.

4000 in one set? Sounds a lot like my recent 3 rounds {4x300@4:30, 3x50@45, 40, 35}

Well this challenge is a bit out of my league.
I think the ace can do it.
But tonight, I am going to try for 10X100. So 1000m All through jello!

6300m?  That would take me 2 1/2 hours.  I think not.

Got 2550m done today.  Longest distance yet.  I'm kinda sporadic so making sure I get some long swims in to insure I make my goal.  Won't let you guys down. 15 850 m to go.

5200 today. I was upset when my coach ended workout early because we had to get out, or we would have gone more. I was thankful that he did 'cause I slept for 3 hours afterwards. Too much I.M. Being at 30k of 130k @dec 10 is scary... i need to do something about it

Swam my longest workout to date. Swam my age in 100's and then added one more for each of my 2 kids.  17000m down and 3000m to go, right on schedule .  I have one more masters practice on Thursday, then we start all the social events, travel and deadlines associated with the Holidays.

That gets me thinking.... I can do my age in 100s for one day, and easily do it in 400s... can I do it in 1000s?? How easy would this challenge be if I could do 20kish in one day?? How long would that take? If I go 1:30/100m, that's 8k per 2 hour session, so theoretically 5 hours. That sounds so crazy, but so appealing. Too bad I'm not a distance swimmer

I'm getting close to half-way.. 9,150 out of 20,000 completed so far. Trying to get as much done before the holidays, but shopping and holiday festivities are definitely starting to get in the way!

I am on target as well. 3 swims completed out of 9 planned (33%). 4500 meters of 13500 meters (33%). This has been a great motivator as I am sure during some of the workouts I would have cut the work out short due to being tired etc.

wow, all of you are making me motivated that I'm behind. Either that, or you're making me feel bad that I have finals this week as well. When that friday one is done, I'm just going to hit the pool for a long long time.
