Your transition looks great with those wheels! And, who's this Lauren person? She sure is lucky....

It's finally being shipped.

It's going to be a long couple of days before it arrives.

Still waiting for mine. Any one else out there get an XL? All of the ones that I have seen are the other sizes. I was gone over the last 5 days and was hoping to return to a new ride. Looks like I will be riding my "old" bike for my first race in 2.5 weeks. I am now thniking I was crazy for not getting the Cervelo. I hope my patience treats me right over the next few years.

I took my new Transition Pro out for a ride today. It is indeed a very nice ride, and well worth the wait. I ended up building up the bike at the LBS, and spent most of today dialing it in. There are still a few things I want to change up, but overall I think this thing is schweet!

So I was told by my LBS that the his Specialized rep said that there are no more Transition Experts available due to the release of the 2009 models. Does anyone know when these models should be available?

What size do you need? I know where there are a couple experts at. The 2009's transitions won’t start shipping until late this year possibly early next year.

I need a 54. Would I have my LBS contact his rep to contact someone else?

JHOUSE4, my issue is that I am bartering services with my LBS so they are the ones that have to be able to get the bike. So if that means that I would have to purchase it through your connection, that is not going to work.

I was thinking about doing the same thing as you are doing with Lauren's Transition Comp since I can get that (replace the front and rear derualiers, crankset, and chain), and end up with the exact bike as the Expert, but just in a different color. Do you think this is a better option if for some reason I cannot get the Expert?

Well with that bike we actually stripped it down to where it is really different. We replaced everything expect the stem, brakes and seatpost. Everything else has been replaced.

Shcweeet looking bike.  Trivia question:  How many times is the name Specialized actually written on that bike.  I'm going to guess an even dozen.

The back wheel looks like it's pretty far away from the frame.

There were no tubbies mounted when that picture was taken. I will snap some pictures when they go back on next weekend.

Just got word today that my bike is on its way! Should be here around Tuesday. It seems as though the XL's are in short supply. My first race may actually happen on my new ride. Smile I will post again when it is in my posession.

Congrats! It's worth the wait...

Here's a pic of my bike. I'm waiting on a set of Easton EC90 TT's. I will be parting with the Roval Star wheels... so if anyone wants a GREAT deal on some wheels?

Until the new wheels arrive, I'll be using the AC 420's for training/racing.

Hey that is one beautiful bike! have you been riding it more and if so, how is it treating you? Mine is on the way and will be here Wed. I am anxious to see if I can get it set up in time for the weekend or whether I will be riding my Talon. If I can get the fit close I will give it a go.

I would love to hear from anyone else about their experiences with the bike so far. I talked with a mechanic who built one up and he talked about how it was not the easiest build.  From a riders point of view, the bike is rock solid.

I will write a review of my own after a week or two.

All my parts have finally come in and it should be ready to ride within the next few days. Have any of you guys had to cut the seatpost to get a better fit?

My bike is here! I am jsut getting it set up but I must go to sleep. The sea post is fortunately just right. I will have to cut down the Vuka bars as the extensions are a bit long.

Any tips?

It sure is sweet looking. i hope it rides as well.

I got rid of the zipp bars on one of the bikes.. They were/are REALLY long and you can only adjust the width so far (they were too far apart). My suggestion would be to measure 5 times cut ones and use a hack saw.

AWESOME!

Face it you didn't sleep last night! You were thinking about riding...

Those Zipp aero bars are extremely long, I need to cut more off as I am reaching to shift.

My suggestion would be to cut the bar, slip it back in temporarily to check the fit, cut some more until it's just right. I went wrong by cutting to where I thought the length should be, then I put it all back together. (I guess I was in a hurry to ride it.)

I think the base bar is... sufficient. However I would really like to get something like the HED Vantage 8, or the Vuka base. I'm also not a huge fan of the stock brake levers... again they are "sufficient." Otherwise, I like the cranks, brakes, frame/geometry, cable routing... it's a very nice bike!

Has anyone else experienced a lot of creaking from the seat post? I put a coat of the Carbon paste on the post and torqued it to spec, but it still has a good creak/pop when on the saddle.

Now get out there and ride!!!

Yeah, i was up at 6 fiddlin' with it. My daughter had a swim meet last night till after 10 so I didnt mess with it too much yesterday. I woke like it was Christmas morning. The bars are a bit wide and I will have to cut a few centimeters off of the length. It came with a 120mm stem which also may be a bit longish. I am anxious to ride but am trying to keep my cool before I get out there and get all crazy on it. I did that with my last bike and was sore for a while after because the fit so far away from where i had been. I am now off to work so it will have to wait until tonite.
