Pam-glad to hear things are going well if confusing with the boy. Life is never simple but its good that he s trying to find time to be with you.

Just finished Tri#8 for the season (HIM, 2 olympics, 5 sprints). I've got 2 sprints and another HIM before the end of my season. Last race is Nov 1 the inaugural Beach 2 Battleship race in Wilmington, NC. The kids just started their new soccer season yesterday and I'm helping coach 2 teams again so what little free time I had just disappeared until Halloween. If I survive until after B2B HIM, I'll have some time to breath again.

Hope you're all having a good weekend.

Eric

What an amazing season Eric!!!  You have a lot to be proud of.

Well everyone,  I am about two weeks away from signing up for the biggest race of my life.  I will be volunteering for IM WI 2008 on September 7th and staying over night to sign up for the 2009 IM WI which will take place on Sept 13th.  It is hard to believe I am ready to make such a huge decision in my life, but I know I am ready especially after such a successful season.  Has anyone else had a very memorable race this season that will stick with you?  I have been finding tons of music to run to over the past few weeks that is super motivational.  Now I just need to get back out doing it!  Take care everyone!

Pam,  I like the new photo... You should be proud of what you have been able to do!

Julie, I hope all is well and Amy I hope your week is slowing down. Dee, what's up?  You are usually good for a post and up date.  Eric, I hope the week is good for you after your travel last week.  I forget who asked what airline I used as I was stuck in airports all the time.  Of the last three delays, one was American, one was Delta and One was Comair... well, equal opportunity messups...

Finely got settled in.  Up early for an hour long ride, I think  I will do hill repeats tomorrow, a brick on Friday and then try out the race on Sunday early.  Going out to dinner with friends every night is not a good set up for early morning training.... But, the is is vacation... Peg and I raise our glasses to all of you, our special family at BT.

I will post more photos tomorrow...

love the picture! mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm wine!!! Peg looks great!

Thanks Dee....I just got some new goggles, a new swim suit and I am off to go for a swim...want to join me!?

Hey guys. It's me.

Emerson I got your email so it prompted me to check in here. Thank you so much! Things are crazy busy right now - gee what a shock. My commute to work is 50 miles one way, so lots of drive time. Fortunately the company pays my gas and tolls! It's going well. I"m in big time absorbtion mode but have made a few minor changes in my organization -- mainly just reinforcing what they'd already been told to do.

Today marks 3 weeks since Stef is gone. The kids and I are doing well as we adjust to the new life. Right now its still pretty crazy since school hasn't started. I have a sitter some days...friends others. So feel like I"m always running in circles trying to remember where every one is.

The triathlon is in full gear and could be a full time job by itself. I'll be glad to get it behind me. It's going to be a tough day emotionally as well as physically and mentally.

I still haven't figured out how to get training in. By the time I get home and get the kids, there's no time to go back to the gym, feed them, and get them to bed at a decent hour. I could ride the trainer before they get up, but I'm working until late at night just to keep up w/ tri and home stuff and not sleeping well anyway, so sleep is precious right now. I'll figure it out. It's just a challenge.

Hope you are all well!

Greg

edit to add:

I don't think I shared the videos from Stephanie's funeral with you. Here are links in the order we used them in the service:

Hi Greg....that was a wonderful tribute to Stef!

Thanks for allowing my sister and my niece in your event! they are sooooooooo very excited...both will be virgin triathletes! I am trying to book a flight to come watch, but not sure if I can budget it in! hope to see you soon...if not will be in Houston for Thanksgiving....will you be around!? we are renting a beachhouse in Galveston for the week...hopefully I can head your way before or after.....would love to meet the kiddos!

take care and call me if you ever need an ear! you are sooo special to me and I hope that you are doing well!

love, Jules

Hey group! I'm here. I've been busy at work, and busy setting up the September Challenge. Don't even bother looking at my August logs; it's not worth visiting when all you'll see are little white boxes!

Hope everyone is doing well!

Good night, back tomorrow... EK

Pam,

I will post later... I am off to work now.  If I still have your number I will give you a call.  It was amazing to be there.  I learned a lot.  I worked almost 12 straight hours.  My legs got really tired... and I was not in the race.  EK

That is totally true, I was a deer in the headlights!!!!  I had been checking wrist bands, kicking out coaches, sending pleading spouses to other spots and along comes a very nice young lady who says "Hi, I am Amy".....   and I was clueless.  No wheels turning, no one upstairs with the lights on...  It took her three times to get me to wake up and figure it out...  All that said, it was great to meet her and what a treat to meet so many of you.  If my teaching schedule takes me east, I will seek out the rest of you...  I plan to meet Greg in Otober.

Some local BT folks got a photo:

This is Jeremy and David from BT Ohio just before the bikes starting coming in -- we had been at Buck Creek the week before.  It was a good day...

Hey guys,

Well, The Steph is this weekend, and I (and others) are working our butts off. We had/have packet pickup yesterday, today and tomorrow with the race on Sunday. It's all coming together well. Both races are FULL with people begging to get it. If it happens next year, it will be a 2 day festival with live bands, etc.

It has been very difficult to put this together. As I look at the donations in honor/memory of people, it is very moving and painful. So much hurt. We are going to have a fantastic opening ceremony. It will be a tribute to Stephanie and raise the bar on living life to the fulluest for everyone who's there. The overriding theme - TRI-ing Is Living.

I got to meet Julie's sister yesterday. She is every bit as beautiful of a person as Julie. They come from a good recipie! ;-)

Gotta run. Lots to do. This is my first time on BT in a while, so wanted to pop in and say HI.

Greg

Greg - Good luck with The Steph this weekend. I'm sure the event will be a huge success. And it sounds like you're already planning next year's event to be even bigger and better. Very cool also that you got to meet Julie's sister.

As for me, well, I'm still working crazy hours. And there was a little doctor's visit today, where they sliced off a piece of my skin and sent it in for a biopsy. I'll have the results next week. Fun, fun, fun.

Oh yeah, and Tropical Storm Hanna is on her way here. The power had better not go out though because I just bought $75 of groceries which are sitting in my 'fridge.

Hope everyone's doing OK!

It's a taser. For my current challenge team: Whips, Cattle Prods and Tiaras. Although, we've all gotten into tasers now, so it should probably be called Whips, Cattle Prods and Tiaras, Tasers.
