skrtrnr - 2009-11-19 3:46 PM the stuffing looks kinda of funny.

a) i dont think i cut the bread into small enough pieces and

b) it cooks different when its encased in a turkey.  i didnt have a turkey cavity to stuff my stuffing in.  :}  though i will come T-Day.

a) 1/4 inch- 1/2 inch cubes work best
b) yep, you need more moisture.- just add some broth and mix it up

kcarroll - 2009-11-18 9:30 PM Evening Ghoulies.  Been pretty busy with work the last few days, so not much posting.  After I got back from Orlando I learned that one of the faculty from the congress was hit by a car and killed while running early Monday morning. I didn't know him personally, but still find myself very sad by this.

Ohhh! I am soo sorry. This kind of thing is soooo hard to deal with.

kcarroll - 2009-11-19 7:35 AM Morning Ghoulies.  Got a nice swim in this morning, snarfed down a couple frozen waffels, now off to work.  Having dinner with a former boss tonight.  Looking forward to seeing him and catching up.

I'm hungry, waffles sound good right now. In college we used to pour chocolate syrup on them. YUM!

I just used regular maple syrup, but chocolate sounds awfully good!  Swimming makes me soooo hungry.

Mmmmm....waffles!  I just read an article that there is going to be a eggo waffle shortage until 2010.

I didn't eat that many!!!Embarassed

I snorted at that one!

skrtrnr - 2009-11-19 3:36 PM well my homemade stuffing test run was going horribly awry from the get-go, but i think i got my s h you know what together, and im thinking its gonna turn out pretty good.

we'll see what the DH says.

i cut my thumb (cutting up the bread)

and now i just burnt my finger (getting the turkey breasts out....)

yep.

its THANKSGIVING DINNER alright.  (albeit a test run)

LOL.

I only cut up bread one year, I found it a pain in the backside. I buy the already cubed bread, it makes life much easier.

Yes, moisure is good, you don't want it to be dried out.

i saw cubed bread in the bakery...but it was hard/dried out.

the recipe called for 'soft' bread...but i figure i can add broth if i decide to go that route.  now that i know i can add broth.

it was more cutting up the celery that i found to be a pain in the arse.

can you buy prefinely chopped celery????  :P

I did it.
Got my 50 minutes in.
4.6 miles. Not a bad pace for me.
So much better than I thought it would be.

Stacy. The stuffing will be marvelous.
I'll be your sis/mom/gramma any time.

(I use any type of bread there is. Pre-cubed, leftover stuff in the back of the fridge, including raisin bread if it is there. It is all good.)

Off to dinner with friends. (AFTER I shower. I'm with you Stacy, gotta shower).

Have great evenings Anne and Stace ( and other Ghoulies).

See ya tomorrow Ghoulies.

happy Thursday eve.

Nice run today Robin! Also, way to be a helpful kitchen-Ghoulie for Queenie. I love eating stuffing, but unless it's Stove-Top I'm hopeless when cooking it.

Good evening Ghoulies! I got my 3 miler in today, but I've been having to do a lot of plan juggling thanks to my busier-than-usual work schedule. I've got a couple ST sessions to make up, but that gives me something to do on my "easy" running weekend. Now it's time to go feed people...

morning Ghoulies.

mornin' ANN.  Happy Friday back at ya NEAL.

as for the stuffing, two thumbs from my family.  we'll see come Thanksgiving Day what the xtended family thinks.

i know my sister in law and i do a lot of things 'differently'  which....im totally fine w....hope everyone else is too.

my kids were jonesin on a street hockey net, the previous one finally bit the dust.

my husband finally 'broke down' and bought them one....JUST in time for Thanksgiving Break - that'll keep them occupied & outside for a looooooong time.  aw yeah!

they love street hockey, theres a whole 'gang' of kids and they play hockey a lot (the one group of three brothers play ice hockey)

every year they turn their driveway into a skating rink, its pretty cool.  the kids love to skate.

after going through some rough going when we first moved here w some kids that werent very friendly, the kids have a finally found a nice bunch to hang w.  they're sure to have fun this Thanksgiving/Christmas breaks.
