My 40 mile ride yesterday didn't work out.  Roads were all tore up so it was more of a cyclo cross ride of 14 miles.  The weather was beautiful though!  The ocean was lovely.  Sorry....no pictures.  I was cranky.

Today, I'm going for a short run in the rain.

Hope the run was better than the ride.  I have found some nice potholes early this year!  They wake you up Yell

The run went a little better.  I really wanted to take my ipod but I don't have the waterproof case for it.  I made a ghetto waterproof case out of a latex glove swiped frome the gym.  I poked a hole in one finger for the headphones.  I think it would have worked just fine.  It didn't rain on my run, though.

Hey there Paul!

Hey there Melissa! How's your morning? Hope all is going well.
pretty good, I am planning on a date with the foam roller once I have caught up here.  It will be followed by a run with the incorrigible dog...maybe several shifts with different dogs.

I've never gone running with a dog before. I think it would be too distracting for me trying to keep track of him.
I have a neighbor that runs with a dog and hasn't done much running lately.  Either his knee or the dogs hip have been acting up so he hasn't been out much.
I don't really need to keep track of them since I keep them on a short leash, but it can take a bit of training to get a really good running buddy.  Some dogs take to it more readily than others though.

My dog is impossible to run with!  She's a German shepherd.  She wants to herd everything she sees and scares people when she runs up to them to lick them to death.

Nice case...it just needs a little duct tape to make it awesome.

my dog is getting pretty good, but still will occasionally go for a squirrel or bird.  He also will tug towards some dogs and people and shy away from others.

tri808 - 2010-03-21 11:40 PM One thing I didn't mention in my RR was that I noticed afterward that when you got body marked, they asked if this was your first triathlon.  I thought the lady was just trying to make conversation, but I think that's what the "V" meant on my other calf...that this was my first as I saw other people with the "V", but not everyone.

I actually think that's a great idea, because a lot of people after the race asked me how I did...and sort of implied or knew that it was my first.  I thought maybe it was just obvious that I was a first timer, but I guess instead of it being "written on your head"...it's written on your calf.

That's a cool idea!

Not that I've done a gazillion tris or anything but I've never seen this and thought it was a cool idea as well!!

disturbed275 - 2010-03-22 6:25 PM So I saw we are in first place in both aspects of the challenge and Jay had an awesome race this weekend.

Any other news worthy items amidst the last few pages of chatter that I should know about?
what about a awesome bike?

mchally - 2010-03-22  12:06 PM  This frame weighs less than 5 lbs, a bit more than carbon fiber, but it is far more durable... with a better fatigue life than steel or aluminum.

masters class was actually pretty good.  Tough, but not so hard that I couldn't complete all the sets.  Hopefully it's a sign that my endurance is building up.
