EVENING GHOULIES.
back from the Y. THE INDOOR TRI. AND WORK.
just wanted to give a snapshot race report.
IM SUPER UBER EXCITED.
we did a 500 yd swim, 45 min spin, and 3 mile run
MY OVERALL TIME: 1:18. A PR AT THE SPRINT DISTANCE.
MY SWIM TIME: 8:58. this wasnt my best swim, but it was enough to keep me right behind the front runners, and way ahead of the 2nd wave.
MY BIKE TIME: this was a set 45 minutes/no distance for everyone. w the exception of 1-2 people, i was clearly one the strongest cyclists in the room. oh if only we could've done a real bike, i would've caught up to the those super fly masters swimmers.
MY RUN TIME: 24:35. a PR. so funny considering how completely SUCKTASTIC my runs have been lately. 8:11/mile pace. which is the fastest ive gone in a tri/run-only. WOOT!
I TOOK 4TH PLACE OVERALL
(WOMEN
) 5th PLACE OR HIGHER WAS MY GOAL. i was less than two minutes behind the 3rd place woman. she got outta the water sooner. i KNOW that i KNOW i would've smashed her on the bike
(she knows it too. LOL
)
so all in all a VERY AFFIRMING DAY. this was a VERY THRILLING BENCHMARK FOR ME in terms of where im at in my overall fitness and training. knowing that i have two more months to prepare for the first tri of the season, its only UPWARD FROM HERE.
stacieb.
ps. oh ya. my friend, the one who took me to lunch this week, sent me a good luck in your race text in the morning. and showed up on the sidelines w a cheer, a smile and a high five.
then we caught up post race.
he txt'd me later, w another hearty congrats and to tell me that i make a tri suit look good.
uhm.... HELL YA I DO. LOL.
isnt that sweet???
I AM SOOOOO FORTUNATE.
