I've met him a few times.  She lives in Charlotte, so I haven't seen much of him.

He's in Seminary right now.  Sooo... life as a preacher's wife awaits.  She'll have to get used to half the people she knows loving her, and the other half talking behind her back.

raised as a Lutheran myself, practicing Presbyterian for 20 years until my church started falling apart - now.........i'm sort of independent I guess

My family has that oh so common Episcopalian/Catholic/Methodist mixture.  The first time I took communion at my grandparents Episcopalian church was when I was 9.  It was also my first taste of wine.

I know!  They've been really good this year.  Throwing a bit more seriousness into them, too.  I think they've done a good job of keeping the humor and showing a bit more emotion.

Cycling (road) - starts tomorrow 8/9. Swimming - starts Sunday 8/10. Cycling (track) is 8/15. Triathlon isn't until 8/18 and 8/19. Um, and "track and field" isn't listed at all? Hm. I'm obviously missing something.

Don't count on cycling being on tomorrow.  I heard the event got delayed because of the air quality.

Yeah.  It looked really bad during a soccer game the other night.

Yeah.  It looked really bad during a soccer game the other night. 

I remember first reading about it in my Triathlete magazine - they were talking about the concern about the swim in the polluted water

to think that people live with the pollution every day

Doesn't look like NBC will be showing the road race.
