I think I'm going to fall one workout short of my swim goal.  Running and core workouts are fine though.

Ran a half-marathon today - another humid day and once again I had a lousy day.  Took off a bit too quick, then consistently faded.  That's ok though, it's just a training run for me.  But I am concerned because in spite of putting in some more miles than ever, they're all during the week, and the long runs have suffered.  but, it is what it is.  I am hoping and praying for a cool day in NYC - that's where I seem to run the best.  Plus, it's time to ease up on the (over)training.

Happy start to the week, Melons.

was it raining?

it was soooooooo soggy here!

Ya know, it actually didn't rain during the race.  Maybe a bit of mist if anything.  But I would have welcomed the rain - it was disgustingly humid.  (At least to me)   After the race, it poured until late afternoon.

it was VERY humid!  it's been a strange weekend, going from super humid, to misting to absolute downpours!

Leaving town again tomorrow so I had to make a last ditch effort to meet my goals. And the results are in....I got it. First I ran a 10K shortly after church today and felt great. Wish I could run like that to end and OLY but ok. And then I rode my bike to the pool this late afternoon while my bucs were beating the packers. And wala..I made it.

Now go finish up your goals you have a few days left.

Heading to bed.  I hope to get in a 1/2 hour lap swim before my 7am class tomorrow.  I will need to leave the house by 5:15-I need to stop and cut a branch off a tree on the way to the pool.  I will be 'defacing' public property-but it is for the greater good.  Who knows-maybe some branches will be laying on the ground.

g-night all

I got a little over 1000 yards in at the pool-only 2 miles to go.  I am going to finish of my biking this evening and but in a swim workout tomorrow morning and a second one in the evening. I hurt, but that's okay.

ceilidh - 2008-09-29 4:18 AM Why do you need to cut a branch?

I am in a Horticulture program-it is for my plant Id class. I took a stem(about 4') from a Salix alba 'Tristis' (Golden Weeping Willow). It is one of the few trees on the list that is not in the school arboretum.

I didn't actually cut it-I yanked

Way to go Melons! The other teams are going to be surprised when we come from behind and crush them. I've got a bike and a strength session to do to reach 100%. I'll try to get in another swim and a run for the team.

You should move to the Pacific NW-it is rarely humid. It just rains now and then. Last few days have been sunny and in the high seventies/low eighties with a light cool breeze. Tongue out

look at me go...over 100% in biking and running and my overall percent is over 80%. My overall will be over 87% by tonight and I hope to get the remaining 3292 meters in the pool tomorrow-a 30 minute workout before my 7am class and a 1 hour workout from 6:30-7:30pm. We'll see how that goes...

Dang, look at you go..

I am hopelessly behind. There is no way to get the biking. I will have the running and the core and possibly, if the gods are smiling, my swim. Sorry folks. I way overestimated my energy and time this month.

My swim goal is going to be painful to accomplish, but I will try.  It is the competitive side of me showing-I already showed the procrastinating side.

Hmmm...sounds like fun up in the Pacific NW.  If you ladies are any indication...

As for the challenge, I can't get to the pool for my final swim, but I will put in an extra core workout tomorrow morning, which I think should average my results out to 100%-ish.

I was considering a swim this evening, but I have 3 days of homework to catch up on.  Why didn't I ask for my assignments before I left town-not that I would have worked on them.

Morning all...

Last day of the challenge.  I put in a quick abs session this morning (so tough to do when I'm still half asleep).  That gets me over 100% for my average, plus I still will run tonight.  Wow.  Hard to believe.  I'm glad I did this challenge.  You all are very fun and inspirational.   i'm in for the October challenge too, so hopefully I get to continue being an 8 year old.  Laughing

Started the morning with a ab workout followed up by a long hot shower.

I will get in some biking and running at school and take a chunk out of my swim goal this evening.
