Hi Beth, was dinner good last night?

Hi Kendra!

Yep, dinner was good - glad I wasn't paying though!

What did you have... I know I am nosy, but if it's a fancy place, that is always interesting! ;-)

hey, inquiring minds want to know -

We had calamari and some other appetizers to start with , the calamari was good (maybe a little too much breading, but very tasty

I'm not even sure what was on the taster platter, a little of everything - the hummus was my favorite

I had seared tuna for my entree, it was served with the most wonderful vegetables, haba beans (they wer awesome), green beans, and a few others

along with a couple of nice glasses of wine, it was very tasty indeed!

But since today is my Friday, I'll be feeling better when the day is coming to an end!

Have you scheduled some rest time for your weekend??? :-) Or will you be running around with other stuff than work for the remainders of th week?? :-)

It will be nothing but rest, I'm really looking forward to it. I'm off to Chicago tomorrow for a long weekend and Chicago Marathon jockstrapping. I'm barely even running while I'm there except for a long run on Monday, which I can't wait for. I love doing long runs out of town, they fly by. And I'll get to see a lot of BTers, which is always good.

be sure to say hi to 2Goggs for me!

Heya, team!  How goes it?

I'm stuck at work feeling a little sorry for myself.  I missed my swim this morning.  It was icky, cold, and rainy all morning.  Then I get to work...now it's all sunny and delightful.  Maybe I can sneak outside for a run.  Sometimes a little sunshine goes a long way.

Glad you had a good run!  Are you starting to get pumped for the marathon?  Got a specific time goal in mind?

I am pumped for the marathon.  I am really only concerned about finishing, but I am hoping to drop below my 2007 time which was 5:04:19, which I should be able to do.  Would like to see around 10 min/mi or better if possible, which is somewhere around 4.5hrs.

That would be a huge PR for me.  As long as I finish though, then I wont feel like I wasted my time training.

LazyMarathoner - 2008-10-08 3:21 PM Darnit, I already had toppage!

Shoot, I was thinking you were saying I could get Toppage for my 1000th post. But hey, my mis-reading led to at least 3 additional posts! So at least I'm not just posting numbers like a certain someone on our team

Oh, yeah -

Just some tips, if you don't mind some feedback.

Big thing - DON'T START OUT FAST! NO MATTER WHAT!!  (Okay, I'm done yelling).

Be confident in yourself.  Don't be afraid to walk, especially when at the aid stations.  Don't look at your watch.

Thanks, I learned some of those the hard way last year.  Plus it is good to hear them again now that the start time is quickly approaching.

I plan to start in the mid 10 range and gradually pick it up from there.  I did that with my 20 miler and it was my best training run ever.

I've tried to imagine myself running a marathon and I just can't do it.  Mucho props just for signing up and putting in the training.  Huge commitment on your part.  And you've been so consistent in your training, I'm sure you'll hit your goals.
