Thanks for letting us know! I just went over there and left Phil... yeah, you guessed it --> Glitter!

Well he did kind of ask for glitter by mentioning it...

Hi Nibbs! What a morning - just done with a meeting and in about 10 minutes or so they are coming to change out my computer with a NEW one so not sure how much I will be around for the next little bit!

Tell them that if you don't have internet access within 5 minutes, NIBBS will come over and have a "chat" with them.

I hate when dogs jump on me. If you are walking your very large dog and he jumps on someone, your response should not be "don't worry, he won't hurt you". I don't care and that's not the issue. I don't like dogs and I especially don't like when they jump on me.

I have another rant, but that will have to wait for a little later.

Owner of big dog... MUST AGREE, your dog should not jump anyone!!!
But question, do you get annoyed by dogs sniffing you?
One of my friends thinks it's rude that my dog sniffs her... of course with my dog being large, I think she just wants acknowledgement and that's where her nose lands.

If the owner is in control of the dog while they are out walking, no.  I understand that.  I don't have a problem with dogs near me at people's houses either.

What bothers me is when people let their dogs walk without having them under control in an area with lots of people.  She had her dog on a retractable leash and the dog was probably 10 feet away from her.  She didn't pull him away, just kind of yelled a little for jumping on someone.  It wasn't until I yelled at her that she pulled him down.  NOT cool.

Well, I really should mosy on home... trying a new recipe tonight from Cooking Light (I was amazed I found a recipe from them that I knew of all the ingredients and could purchaser them without having to grocery shop online half way around the world).

LATER

I heart Cooking Light. Anything by Taste of Home, ya know. I'm making jambalaya! Hooray for sausage

Me too.  They have yummy food.

Not cool at all - I am fine with dogs once I know they are ok but I get a bit nervous around strange ones. That would have FREAKED me out initially and I would have NOT liked it.

I love dogs but if one came at me and jumped up and I didnt KNOW it... and I didnt know its owner.. I would have definitely had the whole adrenaline rush.. not nice! Just because you know your dog is friendly doesnt mean I know!!!

I use a retractable leash. BUT when there are lots of people around, I pull the whole thing in, so he has to stay RIGHT NEXT to me. I know there are people who aren't "dog lovers," and also, I don't want him getting in the way of people who are walking.

If we're walking in an open area or trail with no people, cars, etc, then I let him go the full leash distance (about 14 ft).

I have another rant, but that will have to wait for a little later.

I was on my bike a couple months back, had to stop at an intersection, and two large dogs came over to "investigate".  One of them was extra friendly.  I had to unclip my other foot to keep him from knocking me over.  The other was barking up a storm.  Dude standing in the driveway of the house on the corner says, "Don't worry.  They won't hurt you.  Sometimes they just like to chase."  I asked him to call the dogs over so I could get going and he's says again, "Don't be afraid.  They're friendly dogs.  They just want to chase."  He couldn't seem to grasp the concept that both the dogs weighed as much as I did and being chased was not going to work out well for me.

Some people just don't seem to grasp the concept that a friendly dog can still do damage.  They're just big dumb animals, folks.  Keep 'em fenced in or on a leash!

In this instance, I'm focusing on the ethics of medical research involving human subjects.  Breaches of bioethics would be things like - testing on subjects without consent or taking advantage of marginalized subjects (prisoners, children, mentally disabled) to obtain consent.
