uhcoog - 2011-03-24 8:26 AM Decided to go riding in the dark today.  I hate riding in the dark.  Good 24ish mile ride, stopped at the gym and lifted, rode home.  It's supposed to be 82 degrees here today.  Sorry CT folks.  Cool

Oh and its 28 here . . . just like 82 only backwards.

Rode an hour this morning, lifting in the afternoon, then massage and another hour on the trainer tonight.  This week is 22 hours, I think I'm going to fall asleep at my desk.

22 hours is amazing!  I'm tired with only 8-10 hours.

I'm exhausted this week.  Totally looking forward to next week and some recovery.

I guess I shouldn't complain about the wind...but I will The wind returned today, 20-30mph sustained today and tomorrow. Still had a nice 4 mile run a bit ago, though.

I think we get a break in the wind Saturday and I'm off, so I hope to get in a good long ride if possible.

At least you got some tailwind?

Yeah, the headwind was only bad on the one long western leg of the loop I did. It's about a mile and it was dead in my face the whole way.

Most of the rest was fine though.

Felt like total dog meat this morning.  Had a really good workout though.  Worked strictly on bilateral breathing and hand placement in the water.  Funny how that works out.

Easy 5k this morning.

I have a long bike scheduled for Sat. and a long run & swim scheduled for Sunday.  Saturday is my 7 year anniversary, so Kevin and I are going to dinner & a movie.  Sunday my 4 year old has an art show at her school.  It ought to be a busy, tiring weekend.  Monday we're leaving for my mother's house.  We have to break up my son's 2 week spring break.  It's nuts around here, and they are all really bored.  My mom said I could use her gym while I'm visiting.

Anyone know how to add you all to my friends list?  When does the mentoring group end?  I'd like to keep tabs on all of your training & races.

Congrats on your anniversary!

To add friends, in your training log in the left column there's a section that says friends. In that horizontal bar, there's a + sign. Click that, then there will be a section to type in people's screen names.

It can go for as long as y'all would like.

To add friends, you just have to go to the training log settings menu.

I started out two weeks ago kind of burnt out add to that I been coaching two youth soccer teams at least three times a week for the past three weeks. Plus I have been pretty sick lately I think somethings been going around anyway. I decided to take Kelly and the Artist advise and signed up for a sprint tri called escape for fort Desoto in a couple of weeks. So here's to regaining my mojo. I hope everyone has a great training weekend. I'm going to dail it up now that the clock is ticking.

This spring weather stinks. Yesterday more snow and wind. That and so many little things to try and take care of I got nothing but a small strenght workout in. Today is decent so I snuck in a two miler before heading up to SLC for the day. My grand daughter will get to dance tonight before a Utah Jazz game. We are staying to watch our dysfuction little group of players give the Mavs a srcimmage game. How far the Jazz have fallen after such a promising start.

Had a blowout this morning 13 miles in to a 30ish mile ride.  Wouldn't have been bad except the co2 cartridge I thought was full wasn't.  No fear my wife and daughters who have dubbed themselves the "Rescue Crew" came and picked my stranded rear up off the side of the road.

Packet pickup today.  One week 'till race day.  I love competition!

G'day g'day! 90+ pages of posting, jeepers you guys have been busy, i'm sure it was in the 50s when i left Tongue out

Back home now (Dad is stable Smile), work tomorrow -sigh- BUT i have my training plan sorted and i'm going to get straight back into it, i feel reeeeaaallly sluggish, the month was so busy i had no time for planned exercise. On the up side, working a farm has given me muscles i never knew i had so i'm thinking the strength workouts should be a breeze now hahah.

I dont have the patience to go through all of your postings but i hope everyones programs are on track! Anyone had any races over the past month?

yesterday turned out to be triple header of 7 year old birthday parties.  I struggled to actually stay awake to watch the end of the UConn game - but the Huskies pulled it out and are on to Houston!

I am totally exhausted right now.  I need to get in a 2 hour run and 1 hour bike.  fotunately the afternoon is looking quiet so I think I will wait for it to warm up a bit.  Will work this morning while my kids climb on me.  Wife and 3 year old are sick so its goign to be one of those days.

Good luck to Rudy, Kelly and all the other racers today.

I carry a small pump - it won't get the tire up to full pressure, but it will get it close enough to get me home to the floor pump.  If you weren't looking for it, you probably wouldn't even see the pump on the bike and it weighs next to nothing.

Yesterday was a long-ish day -- hour run and 4:37 bike ride on the trainer.

Over slept this morning.  Need to get out and run, do a recovery swim and some tabata intervals on the bike.

Plus stuffing 400 easter eggs with candy for the 1/4 marathon next week (I'm race director).  Weather calls for rain right now, hoping it stays dry.

5:30+ of training "longish"?  I think that qualifies as a long day.  particularly the 430 on teh trainer, yuck.

I was supposed to do a long trail ride yesterdayu, but the stomachbug got me.  It was just 24 hours though.  Heading out at 2:00 today for a 2+ hour mtb ride with a group.  Hopefully it warms up a bit by then.

Have a great Sunday.

uhcoog - 2011-01-18 10:17 AM I just noticed there are far too many Yanks in this group, and no CT Redsox fans not that kind of Yankee.

I lived in Georgia for 3 years, does that help?

I live in florida lots of sox fan and yes a few yankee fans. It fun to goto the trop. when the sox are playin it's like fenway south.

I did 12 miles this morning it was the hardest run I have had in a long time it was hot but it was the humidity that beat me down. My legs got very heavy at the end of the run.

Off day.  Well worked in the yard hauling mulch and compost around, still an off day?  Why do my daughters wake up earlier on the weekend then they do during the week?  Not fair.

20 mile ride today. Had planned on heading up this side of the mountain but figured today wasn't my day. Started off getting about 3 miles from home and realizing I didn't put my seat bag back on that has my spare and air in it. So I backtracked to get it.

Then when I headed back out, I nearly got clipped by some kid on an ATV crossing the street. I hollered at him and it got me in a foul mood for a few miles. So I decided to stick around my side of the river and hit a few hills, then head home.

Probably a wise choice, since my neighbor wants help cutting some limbs off his tree in the backyard (he's older and I told him anytime he needs a hand with something, just ask).

I have been doing this for 11 1/2 years and they STILL wake up earlier on Sat and Sunday then during the week - like between 6-6:30am! I will secretly admit that I am glad that they are not kids that sleep in - I like my early(ish) starts too!
