LazyMarathoner - 2008-12-25 3:26 PM I have to admit, I'm bored! It's only 16 degrees, feels like 9, and I think I'll go run just to have something to do!

Yikes, bundle up!  Brrrrr!

I've had a great day with the family.  I spent 3 hours putting together a marble mania set Cole got from my in laws.  I think they hate me! That took my run time and now I'm cooking Christmas dinner.  Sort of.  It's in the oven.

No worries Beth!  I had to run too, the kids wanted some attention....so, I put them to bed!  Not really, we played around for awhile.  Then, I put them to bed and opened my serving of wine.  New one....a white I haven't tried before.  I really think I am more of a red fan...this is okay but not a favorite.  I forgot what it is though!

I think I'm more of a fan of red as well

I'll be right back, need to go put some sheets on J's air mattress

It must be nice to have everyone at home!

Good beer you say?  What is that?  Any recommendations?  Bryan would love it if I drank beer with him!

ETA:  TOPPAGE!!!!!  Too much wine to think of anything clever!

you should check in with Kristen (enders shadow) she is a wine lover, and also knows her way around beer

I'm also quite the beer swiller connoisseur if you ever want recommendations My local is a beer bar. Nothing but hard core beer geeks hang out there!

Good to know Kristin!  Need a beer to compliment some prime rib.  What ya got for me?

Oops, I never answered this Ales go best with beef. Not pale ales or IPAs, which are really hoppy and sometimes a little citrusy, but classic ales. Or christmas/holiday/winter ales which are out right now and always very yummy!

Here's the toy that took my afternoon to put together.  It's Cole's favorite so far so it was worth all the pain it caused!

I did it, I finally endured a real outdoor run. It was ffffffffreeeeeezzzzing! Was 14, feels like 7 and my dad said his car thermostat said -7. Who knows. I was ok on top but my legs and butt literally went numb! My face, forget it. But it felt so good to get outside and the sun on the snow was beautiful. I really want to love winter....

Got in a little ab and shoulder workout too. Wine time!

I really did.  The kids were fantastic all day.  I don't think I have ever seen them behave so nicely.  They were kind to each other all day.  They took turns playing the new Wii without complaining....weird!  It was fabulous.  They didn't even complain when it was dinner and they didn't like what I made.  Talk about the best Christmas ever!    My Christmas spirit might have been M.I.A. but it didn't matter.  I have the three best children anyone could ever ask for and the best hubby ever.  I am truly blessed.

Now, don't tell anyone I said that.  It will ruin my reputation!

I'm back from my run.  A great slower run.  It felt sooooo good to get out there!  I'm so glad I went!    I got to wear my new shirt and vest.  Loved them!  I was a bit too warm though.  Good to know for the colder weather!

Sorry to hear that!  Maybe you could challenge some family members to an arm wrestling competition, or sit-ups or anything to get them out of the post holiday stupor and have a laugh.

I got on the scale today......UGH!!!!  I was not happy with the holiday pounds I gained.  Sooooo, no wine or yummy food for me for the next week, I'll splurge for New Years and then back to nothing!  Sigh, I'll miss my wine....

Ice. Bleh.

It's better here. It was actually in the low 50s today.

Of course, my next move will be to some place where the temps never fall below 60 F.

Evenin' vixens- Given everyone's scale experiences I can only conclude that there has been a sudden increase in the earth's gravitational field and it is best that I not weigh myself until the new year.

Kristin- glad to hear that your ear is better.

For those experienced runners I need advice: I am looking at runnning plans. Hyannis (2/22/09) will be my first half.  Several of the programs have the maximum long run at10 miles.  Is this long enough or should I use a program that has a 12 mile longest run. I am nervous but also don't want to do too much and risk getting injured.  I am babying my knees as it is.
