For those who haven't seen her yet -- this is Paula Findlay:

10 APR 2011 - SYDNEY, AUS - Paula Findlay celebrates victory at the women's ITU World Championship Series triathlon in Sydney, Australia (PHOTO (C) NIGEL FARROW) (NIGEL FARROW/(C) 2011 NIGEL FARROW)

I am male and a triathlete.

It would be like me asking you, do you know a biker by the name of cavendish.

So I've been trying to come up with a realistic time goal for my first Oly at the end of July.

Figuring that I'll run 10:30min/mile or a little slower, 17-18mph bike, and not sure on the swim, what's a ballpark goal?

I THINK about 1:10-1:15 for the run, 1:20-1:30 for the bike, and :35 for the swim, does that seem right? So 3:05-3:25 or so?

If your inputs are accurate this is a pretty useful tool: http://www.triathloncalculator.com/

is that the calculator that said i'd do 7:45 at Rev3?

ha, ha, just saw IMTX on tivo the other night. Tim O'Donnell??? He will be a force very, very soon . . . heck, he almost won TX on his first try!!

And does anyone else follow the short course stuff? That woman from Canada, Paula Findley . . . WOW! Also, Macca is doing the short course stuff . .. he did not do well at all in his first race. Lost his goggles on the swim, came out of the swim 1 minute back, and I think 2-3 minutes back off the bike, they never showed where he ended or even during the run. Whole different strategy!

ITU is alot of fun, the speed is unreal and swimming matters. However, seeing them bike/run around in circles is dull.

Like I said, if the inputs are accurate. I did not have accurate inputs for you (e.g. no bike training volume or bike speed) when I did it in February. It was dead on for me at St. Anthonys and for the first two legs of Rev 3.

So today was the firs time I did s/b/r all in the same day. Felt great. 31 miles followed by a 2 mile T run early this morning, and 30 minutes in the pool this afternoon after work. I might actually get some sleep tonight.

Morning everyone!

Today is an off day. Slept in until almost 7 a.m. and now cleaning the house (its kind of a mess). Massage this afternoon and going to try for a pedicure tonight -- wicked exciting day.

Bike/run brick this morning and then drills + speed in pool tonight. It's really humid here today, so we'll see how this morning's workout goes....

Ummmmm.... yes please.

Hour bike, 30 minute swim this morning. Will jump on the dreadmill later today. Legs actually feel fresh today for the first time in a while. I'm already excited about my 50 mile ride w/ a T run coming this weekend.

Make sure you have plenty to drink. For 50 miles in Texas, I'd be going through about 4 bottles.

Yep. Taking 3 on the bike and there is a cyclist friendly convenience store along the way. 2 in a cooler at the car. One for each loop around the run course. Should be fun. Lots of Shiner Bock and lazy pool time afterward.

Morning. tempo run and some moderate bike intervals this morning. in depositions all day, may try and get to the pool this evening.

My parents took the kids out to Marthas Vineyard, wifey and I join them on saturday. My wife has already lost her mind without the chaos of the kids around: she is staining our deck. nuff said.

Ever had one? A good one? They massage your feet and calves. Feels soooooooo good. I'll admit I get my eyebrows waxed too. Much less painful than plucking what can be a nasty unibrow if left untended.

5.6 mile run with 10 x 1:00 intervals this morning. That hurt!!! Swim lesson #2 scheduled for tomorrow in Cromwell.

On vacation in Cape Cod July 9-16th. Will be practicing some OWS for sure. Last year there were Great Whites in small groups close to where we were staying. Now I am definitely fearful of OWS!!!

My run this morning was supposed to have 4 X 4.5 min. Z4 / 1.5 min. recovery intervals. After the first one (where I failed and was only in Z2) I abandoned the intervals and just did a Z1/Z2 run. We had a rain storm last night and I think it made it exceptionally humid this morning. I felt like a slug the entire run.

Pedicures - no thank you. I don't really care for anyone touching my feet, and the last time I did have one the girl tried to file off all my calluses. Cry

Eh, she sounds like my wife. If there is what I would consider downtime then Cindy is finding all the things she wanted to do but never gets around to. I used to be a napper. I come from a long line of nappers. I miss my naps.

Speaking of seals . . . a firend of mine was swimming in San Francisco Bay in her full sleve and head cap when an amorous sea lion mistook her for another sea lion. She didn't think it was amusing.
