TriAya - 2008-11-11 9:25 PM Hi Emily, Hi Jen, Hi Cat, Hi Bethie Love!

Hi Yanti!!

oooooooola.

I have lots of bad bunny karma from my days at Genentech. Still working it off. Unfortunately I've eaten a couple rabbits since then, too ...

It's always really tricky.  With animals, you have to balance suffering with the benefit for the research.  At least for the human aspect of my project, it's pretty easy.  I get volunteers to agree to give blood samples and fill out a patient questionnaire.  No  names, just id numbers.

I really hate the animal research part.

I have made it a point to avoid the toxicology side of research.  I would be that girl that let all the animals go in the middle of the night.

Whoops. That's exactly what I worked in.

I heart animals. I guess I viewed it as part of my job (not to mention a requirement) to treat the bunnies as humanely as possible.

I like what I do now much better TEACH AND PLAY WITH DOGGIES!!!!!

We have someone in the lab like that.  She's been known to give the mice good retirements.

It's an absolutely necessary part of research but I personally couldn't do it.

Scotty Pup! Well hello!

Hi. I'm amazed that I managed to climb on the drainer even though I felt like crap and lifted weights afterwards... I feel better now, except for all the weird muscular distress in and around my knee.

Might be a good time to learn how to swim
