carrie639 - 2011-06-28 1:17 PM but if you can swim in quick zig-zags like seals, the sharks will have a much harder time catching you . . . they are fast, but not as agile.

Speaking of seals . . . a firend of mine was swimming in San Francisco Bay in her full sleve and head cap when an amorous sea lion mistook her for another sea lion.  She didn't think it was amusing.

See people just don't have any sense of humor now adays . . . the animal kingdom is trying to interact with us and they get a negative response . . .

What do you expect dressed just like a seal or sea lion . . . and much slimmer

Just saw Thor is riding a mystery Cervelo bike for the TdF.  Article was in Norse (?) but my LBS' FB page said so.

I'm here to help man.  Just took my frustration out on the treadmill for a good 40+ minutes.  I seriously dislike my job.

I bailed five years ago  from a job running three child abuse prevention and investigation agencies at the same time. Now love my life as an artist and part time sports writer. Pay sux sometimes, but my mental health is much better

5.6 mile run with 10 x 1:00 intervals this morning.  That hurt!!! Swim lesson #2 scheduled for tomorrow in Cromwell.

On vacation in Cape Cod July 9-16th.  Will be practicing some OWS for sure.  Last year there were Great Whites in small groups close to where we were staying.  Now I am definitely fearful of OWS!!!

See video:

Clearly, we all would love to work with something we truly love, but truthfully, I don't mind my job.  Commercial Insurance sales (some personal products as well).  It's flexible, pays very well, and pretty darn secure.  It's 100% commission, so I can never be too lazy, but hard work pays off. I am in the office about 1/2 the week, the rest on the road.  Mostly in CT, some RI, and some MA. Home every single night.

Other than the lawyers we know about on here (Jeff Sklarz, Kelly)  What does everyone else do? In celebration of the main forum post "Show me your suit", everyone should post their's here (work related or Tri) so we can finally see what people look like.  It would be nice to put a face to the person posting!! Laughing

I won't have my first Tri photo until Aug 7th.  But this will do

I'm to the left.   Check out the size of that Blue Moon!!!!

I don't know how to post photos, but my first job (and priority) is mom of 4, but I do work part time as a veterinary internist (think general veterinarian plus an additional 4 years of specialized training). I like my job a lot; I have been there 12 years - good hours, OK pay, and I am home after school with my kiddos. Do girl scout leader and boy scout den mother count as jobs?

Yah, I struggle posting photos too.  I'll give it a try later and see if I can figure it out.

I manage a billing & insurance department, currently about 24 people here in Georgia, plus a group of 7 - 8 overseas in the Philippines.  I like the "function" that we do (a lot!), but that many direct reports can be very draining.  No one is ever happy.  I'm generally a "glass half full" kind of person, surrounded by "glass half empty".

If I could choose my career, and $$ didn't matter, I'd either be a personal trainer.  Or do something with dog rescue.  Has anyone seen that show Dog Town USA?  My husband and I have talked about moving to Utah and volunteering there.  I LOVE DOGS!

OK, so I'm not in tri gear, or work gear, but I love this photo of me and my Ridgeback Harper.  This was the weekend I went to meet her/pick her up in San Diego.

And here's me a few weeks ago at the lake -

I'm a General Manager for a restaurant chain, many of you probably know it.

That's me the day I took our old pepper to the desert to blow it up. We were remodeling the restaurant and the old logo was going to be destroyed, so I got permission for the higher ups to do the honors. My buddy works at Sandia National Labs in explosive testing, which made him the perfect accomplice for the deed. Here's a link to the video of the detonation if you want to see it.

So yeah, I work at Chili's Grill & Bar.

I work I'm corporate finance (budgeting/forecasting/strat plans). Got CPA, MBA, make decent $$$ and am pretty good at what I do, but I really don't like the corporate culture. Unfortunately I am too far along in my career and make too much to even consider a career change. I would love to go back to school to be a vet or physical therapist, somewhere where I feel and can see myself making a difference. I love animals so that would be perfect. So looking for someone that wouldn't mind me re-discovering myself.
