Only, it is AFTER the race. I really am as white as white can be! It is also the closest thing to shirtless I think I have, or that anyone would ever allow to remain posted. You have a great stomach though!!! (And I cant talk Im incredibly pale!) |

Awesome smile - you look SOOOO incredibly happy! Thanks, I was! I had practiced the downhill finishing run over and over, and I passed three people on my way to the finish line (and was 2 sec behind a BTer!), and I didn't care that I couldn't breathe, I was over the moon that I had DONE IT! |

I lost about 50 pounds (though I had put ten back on in that pic) and was probably the most fit I've been in a very long time. I worked HARD for that body! Pics from a year before are, um, not so very kind. |

Pics from a year before are, um, not so very kind. Umm yeah i have to loose a bit and looking at recent pics is pretty depressing... but I seem to loose my momentum quite easily... especially when working late! I managed to get within 5 pounds of my goal weight, then it started creeping ever so slowly back up. I just peaked at 20 pounds over my goal weight, which put me in a serious funk. I worked WAY too hard to get it off to let it all come back. So, it is coming off again. Working third shift is HORRIBLE for losing weight and keeping it off. The standard is third shifters gain, on average, 30 pounds. I refuse to let that happen! But, it is insanely more complicated trying to figure out my nutrition working at night than it was working days, which is why it goes on even when I'm trying so hard to keep it off. My goal is for my new year's resolution to be MAINTAIN, not lose, because I'll be at my goal weight by then! |

Ive been saying it for so long and Im trying to workout why I cant stick at it... I'd be happy to talk at obnoxious length about what worked for me. Simple tracking. Well, it isn't so simple, but tracking absolutely everything. Calories in and calories out. Once I could see clearly where my calories were coming from and how to balance them both within my nutrition and by using appropriate exercise, the pounds came off slowly but steadily. It takes dedication, but I found once I got in to the system, I learned so much about nutrition and my body with all the feedback they gave. The best part is that you eat whatever you want, you just learn how to balance it all. No, you cannot subsist wholly on chocolate chip cookies, but there is room for those in your day. And, learning what "junk food" is actually better for you than "healthy snacks." Feels really good to down a couple chunks of cheese saying, "I need to get my fat percentage up!" |
