Never heard of post padding before.

Maybe Wikipedia would have something?

Oh c'mon, you know, post padding--in case you're not watching where you going and you bonk right into a post. Here's a pic: Anyway, you all know what I'm doing on Sunday. Gotta get everything packed up tomorrow to go camping tomorrow night in order to hit the road early on Sunday. Oh and I had another milestone recently - finally had my first chain replacement! I got about 3,000 miles out of the original chain that came on the bike. And I got a new rear wheel because my old one was basically shot and would pop out of true if you just looked at it.

Oh, that is EXCELLENT!  what did you search on to find it?

I just did a Google image search for "Padded Post" and that was the first one that came up!

OK, I was doing it wrong.  I (silly me) Googled "Post Padding" and couldn't figure out what it had to do with triathlons or TdF:

In order to not miss out on my ride today DH and I are staggering our rides (so one of us can take daughter to the ER for hydrocortisone shot if needed - bit by tabano and allergic) so no excuses today!

We have until end of day tomorrow right?  Can't ride tomorrow am because of the tour and midday is too hot so tomorrow's ride (58-62km) will be late afternoon.

Uh-Oh - Family obligations caused me to not be able to ride today (well, a mile with Gretchen, but not BT TdF worthy).

I'm going to get one ride in tomorrow morning, then get another ride tomorrow afternoon, that will put me on or over the goals.

Rode 3 miles with my wife (new distance record for Gretchen) and kept it in granny gear with high cadence [almost] the whole time.  So I'm counting that as a stage.  A little food and another cup of coffee and Neosporin on the ankle scrapes from forgetting to unclip and I'm on my way to my last 25+ mile stage of the BT TdF challenge.

I needed 25 miles in my last stage and rode 30.

AND - drumroll please - this was my first time riding up Transmountain highway, the highest point in El Paso.  (5,280 feet above sea level.)  It's a 1,400 foot elevation climb in 6 miles.

I updated the spreadsheet from my phone so hopefully it recorded correctly. 59.7 miles today to kick off RAGBRAI. Pace wasn't anything to brag about but the hills today and tomorrow are pretty tough - over 4,000 feet of climbing both days with almost 5,000 tomorrow, then a hundred mile day Tuesday. Go team!

I don't think it updated, you are still showing 1 stage and 33.84 miles short of Paris.  I'm 99% certain that's where you were when I put in my last ride.

That would leave jmk-brookln needing to do just one stage - any length - today and we would all be at 100% (excepting the two who signed up and didn't play).

WOW!!! What a CLIMB!!!

This morning I discovered that the tiny third ring on the front set of gears does indeed serve a purpose.

But it sure feels good to have climbed that particular mountain, it seems to be a litmus test of sorts amongst El Paso cyclists.  (And I did it on a 30 pound hybrid bike!)

I think we need a ruling about chr15.  He/she appears to have dropped off the face of the earth.

can you (or someone) fix it for me? Just add a stage and 59.7 miles to the <300 that's in there now. Thanks gang and I'll upload a pic when I can get a wi-fi signal which might not be until Wednesday.
