New garmin? very nice. Yesterday i missed out on someone's polar s150 for $25 here on BT by an hour. I could have really used that great deal to get a HRM that would have been perfect for my uses. Oh well.

Well, i rode yesterday stage 8 didn't realize it was the 3rd week yet though. Got cut short but i have another ride planned tomorrow before my race this weekend, so i will be wrapping up the 23 miles i need minus the 27 on race day. Good job team! Everyone seems to be well on track.

Hey team!!! I'm gonna try and get a little brick in today. I want to play with my new Garmin Forerunner. I think we are looking good! Keep up the great work!

Did you get the 405? That's my latest toy and I love it and hate it simultaneously. I'm too lazy to read the instruction booklet (hence my name) so maybe that's the problem. The GPS is just amazing, I love running and biking wherever without having to map. So that part is great! Have fun with it. Is there anything better than new tri gadgets?

I got the 305 and I'm a bit overwhelmed at the potential to improve my performance.  I'm excited about it, too.  Now I just have to use the thing!

crap.  I just wrote a long post and lost it.  Here's the summary:

I have 5 hours left to reach my goal.  I'm headed to Vermont this weekend but will bring my bike and reach my goal.

Please tell me more about the 305/405.  I am trying to figure out what to get for my birthday.  Swimming instruction or a toy.  I love my old school timex ironman for the pool, I have a nice cyclometer for the bike, but I have nothing for running except BT route manager, my timex, and long division.

There are no GPS units that you can swim with yet huh?  Can I just strap the 405 on my wrist and bike with it?  Will it tell my speed and distance?  I already have cadence on my cyclometer.

The 405 was my birthday gift to myself too! I love it. It's much more streamlined than earlier Forerunners so it fits pretty nicely on the wrist. It's still fairly big, it's a GPS after all, but I think it's more comfortable. It tracks pace, distance, averages and heart rate. I like it because you can run or bike without mapping. If you want to run 8 miles, you just run where you like and keep an eye on the distance occasionally. I use it for cycling as well and find it's far more accurate than my bike computer.

You can't swim with it, unfortunately, but it wouldn't be much good indoors anyway since you can't get a satellite. I use my timex ironman for swimming and for races as well, still does the trick.

I haven't fully explored all of the options yet because I hate reading directions, but just for the pacing, mileage and HRM, I love it so far.

Swimming instruction is good too

So, if you just strap it on your wrist and hop on the bike it'll say that you are going 18mph and track distance, then hop off your bike (up the service elevator in your case), and back out on the street for a run and it'll tell me when I reach a 7:59 pace with no button pressing?

Yep!  I love seeing that pace!  Sure didn't like seeing the pace when I went up a hill, though.

Thanks.  I just went and checked one out.  Pretty sweet.  When you hope off the bike you can just hit "lap" and later can see your bike and run stats correct?

Yep!  Check out the little graph that BT makes with the data on my blog page from a couple of days ago.  That was my test run.  I want to do a test bike ride too but I have to get my house in order.  My Mom is going to be visiting for awhile beginning tomorrow.

Ahh, you've got the 305.  I'm looking at the 405.  It's not compatible with BT quite yet.  That's ok though.  I'm not too geeky with the HR stuff quite yet.  I'm geeky in many other ways though!

Nice work! Does anyone know when we'll see Week 2 results? I think we should still be way up there based on what I saw on the spreadsheet.

I'll be hopping on the trainer for some miles tonight. Work interfered today

Stage 10, 15.2 miles, done on the trainer. Thank god for Project Runway on DVR to pass the time. I still have 43.04 miles to go but have a half-mary on Sunday so I'll likely need to divide it into two more short rides in an effort to save my legs.

I promise you guys I will finish, even if I have to ride after the race on Sunday!

LM I'm right there with ya!  I think I over committed a bit with 450 miles  but there's no way I'm falling short on this one.  I've got 96 miles and 3 days to go, but I'm out of town on Saturday so I'm planning on getting up really early before I leave for a short ride and then a long ride tomorrow and Sunday.  Either way, no matter what, with out a doubt...I will finish.  Best of luck to you!

Stages 8 and 9 completed. It is really hard to only ride 7 miles for 2 stages. 20 miles logged of commuter cycling.  Made it to the Podium.

Have a great weekend. Keep riding we're almost there!

Stage 11 done, just 18 miles to go! I'll be doing it as a "recovery" after the NYC Half Marathon on Sunday. I told you guys I'd get it done one way or another! Hope everyone is having a fabulous Friday.

It's looking to be close to beer time for me. Ah, I love Friday!
