I actually like that someone wants to go toe to toe with Old Red nose....but I dont think the refs favor it one way or another....a decision one way is always an outcry to the other team...no one ever sees it as "fair"...

As for the weekend...parity is coming ot the league...Stoke gets a result...AGAIN agianst the Scousers, Chelsea gets killed, Arse struggle and Villa get fortunate....AGAIN!....this season will go to the wire....

I knew it was going to be an interesting season when teams like Hull and Stoke were getting results and Tottenham and Newcastle were dominating the bottom of the table.

And yes, the match yesterday was terribly interesting.  Talk about a lot of fouls.  I'm really surprised there wasn't a red.  And with the way Shreck (Rooney) was mouthing off to the reg, he should have gotten one much earlier. 

It is going to be a fun season.  It will be even  more fun if LFC finish at the top. 

The vitriol from Rooney to refs and what he gets away with is incredible - you dont have to be very adept at lip reading to know what he is saying....

I did like the "playground" corner kick....seen it done before but you need to make sure the refs know before hand....

Tell me about it.  I didn't see it till the replay, but it definitely was not "fair play". 

And did you happen to see the free kick by Gerrard on Saturday.  Kicked it into the back of the ref while he was setting up the 2 man line.  It was hilarous.

I still don't remember where I heard that, but when I did, I 'bout pee'd my pants laughing.  I think it was on the soccer daily podcast I listened too once or twice.  They are funny, but I don't listen to podcasts enough to subscribe to them.

I think you are right, and he has been interviewed and it is a gun shyness.  I think it is kind of a security blanket.  It was a very nasty knock too from what I remember.

Seems every big game gets a red card...ruins the game....Lamplard ( no thats not a spelling error )...made contact with the ball...Alonso kicked him. Mike Reilly is a hopeless ref - always makes the wrong decision it seems..that said 'Pool had the better chances to that point so the result was just about deserved....

And how would Wenger like to get $20M for Adebayor now?!...he squanders more chances than he make.....

I have to agree that Fat Frank's red was undeserved.  In looking at the replay, I think any booking might have been a bit harsh.  But it is what it is.

I still want to know how Bosingwa got away with the cleats to the back of Yossi at the end of the second half.   He might be in for a suspension.  It was shocking to say the least.
