Someday I'm hopeing to be able to do a half. Awesome pic!!! Like I tell everyone, the hardest step is deciding to do one. Once you mentally commite your body will follow. What is a realistic timeframe in your opinion?? From running 5K comfortably to being able to complete a half marathon?
TOP PAGE For me there are 2 big steps up from racing 5k to 21K (half marathon) . First step is moving up to 10K distance , Second Step is completing & racing 10 miles . Then I would go for a half 13.1 . Time wise it depends how you add weekly mileage and stay healthy . Increase your base mileage per month but by no more than 10% . Try adding a mile to your long run every other week like in this training schedule below . Two things are important : the long run and the weekly mileage.

Right now I am not planning on a half mary, I have to start to love running first.... Currently I plan a 10K in April and several 5Ks and 8Ks leading up to that... This is all the prep for my first sprint tri next year and the fact that running is for me the scariest portion of a tri. |

Master 2055 Santa Clarita | Subject: RE: Pecan Team - Just Wanna Run - November To answer many questions about running .. I cant recommend this book enough for its wisdom and simplicity . I first took it out at the public library along with everything else they had available on running and found myself rereading it over and over . I eventually just bought it . http://www.amazon.com/Running-101-Joe-Henderson/dp/0736030565 Ask for it for as a Stocking stuffer . |

Master 1529 | Subject: RE: Pecan Team - Just Wanna Run - November Have a question about the spreadsheet. When we enter in our miles for this week are we just to enter the weeks total or is it total miles from begining of month? The reason I ask is cuz after that first week it has me at 38% goal acheived, but now for this week it has me only 10%. Sorry I'm a bit confused.

The formular is set-up that you need to enter your total miles all the time and just move from column to next column every week for the cut-off. |

Got my run on today, and it was nearly epic! A good solid breakthrough run for me. My blog is loooooooooooooooong, if you are interested in what I was thinking about. Haven't decided if I'm going to run tomorrow. I should in order to stay on track (that's what I get for skipping Monday), but I might be too sore from today. I can't make it up Saturday - oh, who knows! I'll figure it out in the morning. |

Master 2055 Santa Clarita | Subject: RE: Pecan Team - Just Wanna Run - November Added some miles today after a Rest day yesterday. Followed the run with a quick spin on the gym bike reading : Runners World and did a little weight work : lunges ,squats , extensions , crunches , curls , press all one set @ 10-15 rps medium weight so i was tired but not hurting afterwards.
Team Wise : We are at 41.5% and appear to have opened up a Big Lead . Woohoo ! But then perhaps not all reports are in for them Other teams. So keep plugging away at your goals and be sure to hydrate and rest well in order to come back stronger.
