ebshot - 2008-12-02 2:10 PM I had to go to the package store (liquor store) to pick up some more wine.  (priorities, you know.  Wine trumps lunch!)  I got some ice wine for my birthday.  I've never had it but I thought my 30th was a good occasion to get it and give it a whirl.

Hey happy B-day, when is the official big day?  I just turned 30 this year too.

If you like reds, My all time fav is a brunello.  Is about $70 and up a bottle.  Got hooked on it over in italy where it was only $20-30 a bottle and cheaper than water and coke.

Thursday, Dec 4th is the big day!  I'll have to look for that wine.  I don't mind spending money on a good bottle.  Bryan might, but I don't!   He is a beer drinker.  He still can't get over how much money I spend on wine.  Oh well.

Wow, the big 30  I think that's when I actually felt kinda like a grown-up (I'm only 31 now).  I had been married for awhile and had a kiddo, but it was something about the number.  Do you have big plans???  I spent my 30th moving from Orlando back to Little Rock.  Twenty hours in the truck with a 2 yr old and a weimeriner and a cat...following my husband and lab who were driving the u-haul that was pulling a penske trailer.  It rained 19 of the 20 hours and the electrical system in my truck was shot.  I hope yours goes better than mine did

runnerx - 2008-12-02 1:35 PM I'm curious...do any of you believe in signs, or fate/destiny, or reasons why things happen? I never did, but listen to this. I'm still processing all the stuff that happened to me and I'm thinking I got it figured out. It all happened for a reason. I needed to get out of the girlfriend #1 relationship. It wasn't healthy for me. When things started happening with Girlfriend #2, that was the "safe haven" i needed to allow me to get out. But, #2 also needed to rid her demons of her old boyfriend. So that was my reason for being there for her. Then I got injured, and it prevented me from going to my weekly running club gathering. That was where #1 and #2's ex started things. If I had been there, #1 would have turned her attention to me. So here we are. The demons are exorcised. Hurts (for now) but all the dust settled the way we needed it to. Btw, girlfriend #2 was HUGE on sensing things and signs and reasons and stuff. Kinda opened my eyes to that. Whaddya think?

Definantly was not meant for you.  Sucks having to go through the experience but its good that you can look back and see that.   The world/karma/fate/destiny its crazy crazy how it all works out.

Getting ready for lunch and then later this afternoon a run and a core workout.

So everybody have their christmas shopping done yet?

Sort of.  We got the kids the Wii this year.  They have to SHARE!!  That should go over great!  Yeah, maybe not.  They are getting their own games and a few other small things.  Scaling back this year...

Our girls are getting that too.  What all are you getting to go along with it?  I've heard its good to have another set of the wiimote and numchuck thing.  Also the charging station.  Just trying to figure out what the basics are so that when they open they can start playing it.  Also if there are any good bundle packs out there cuz dang that system cost $ and it adds up FAST!!!

I saw a "bundle pack" in the Sam's Wholesale flyer that was about $400.  It had 3 remotes and 3 numchuck thingies.  Also, I think it came with a few extra games.

We got our son a kid's sized gator/mule thing.  It's a little all terrain deal like a 4 wheeler, but shaped more like a little utility vehicle.   He played on it at my uncle's house one weekend and fell in love with it.  My uncle was diagnosed w/ cancer, so he was liquidating and made us a great deal.  (that really sounds bad doesn't it?!?!)  My son can only ride it in 1st gear, so he has years to grow into it.

I got the extra nunchuck and wiimote.  I was going to get two extras (total of 3) but decided since it would cost $120 to get them set up with extra controllers that they could just share!  So, I spent $60 to get the wiimote and nunchuck thingy.  I also got the recharger station thing.

As far as games, I went with Mario Kart, Star Wars Clone Wars Lightsaber Battles, Cooking Mamma and Lego Batman.  I might pick up another girly game for poor Alex who couldn't care less about Star Wars or Batman!

I thought this would be the cheaper way to go but it adds up FAST!!!!!!!!  I think we still saved a bit of money compared to last year but not as much as I was hoping!

It's a dessert wine that is made from grapes that have frozen while still on the vine.  I've wanted to try it for a long time but it is a bit pricey!  I'll let you all know how it is!

x2!!!!!!  I think your husband should take you out and you need to celebrate big time!  Yikes!

We moved three years in a row on my birthday.   It just worked out that way.  Not good!  In fact, on my 21st we moved from CT to ME and I didn't get to celebrate at all.  I was pregnant to boot!  So, the 30th is going to be a combination of many years into one big night!

Mornin all,

I have to say I think I am going to have some difficulties remembering who said what where, with the handful of us that are on two teams together.

Me too! I also can't remember which goals are for which challenge.

Hmmmmmm, I wonder why?  Is it from drinking out of those styrofoam cups??

Yeah, I've lost a few brain cells, I can't deny it.

BTW, this detox week is B O R I N G.

I do. Not fate so much, but I think the events in our lives set off other events and so forth and determine what's next. Even though things didn't work out with my husband, everything about the past 11 years has led me to where I am now so I think it was meant to be. And I do think there are times when relationships work for a reason, and they might not have worked otherewise, like your GF #1 scenario. Life's interesting that way.

NY State makes a lot of it due to the climate. It can be really interesting and really good, but only if you really love sweet dessert wines because it's usually even sweeter than the norm. I've had some beautiful Riesling ice wines at tastings. I'm not a sweet wine drinker so I've never had more than just a bit and it's always been lovely. Enjoy it!

Too young on my end!  If I could do it all over, I'd have waited much longer and would be starting the family now.  I love my three kids more than anything but we really rushed into having kids way too fast.  That being said, I'll still be pretty young when Liam is off in college so, we have that to look forward to!

27 is definitely better than 22.  And just barely 22!  Liam was the only name Bryan and I could agree on.  In fact that is how each of our kids got their names, we only agreed on one name each time.  It was painful trying to figure names out!

And now, I can't keep ANYTHING straight.
