Seriously, I have a question though....I just had a computer put on my bike, but I forgot to specify that I wanted it on the back wheel so I could track my stuff on my trainer, so I want to know how much of a hassle it is to move it to the back without taking it back to the shop.....

Also, just found about a race that is being run here in Kingston on 05 Apr....so I am thinking about fast tracking my training to try to do that one....it is a sprint with the swim in a pool....

 Any thoughts?

I know that was pretty sad.  By noon it was above 45 and sunny.  So I went out and ran in just shorts and a long sleeve tech shirt. Cool

See...now that just pisses me off.....

We'll be up to 86 by Thursday.

What's snow?

I Love the Heat.  We''ll be in the 70's by Friday.

Just wondering if anyone knows any good sports nutrition books. I'm going to focus a bit more on that over the winter in preparation for next season. I've seen the thread in the nutrition forum, and they all seem to recommend Chris Carmichael's "Eat Right to Train Right" and one by Nancy Clark. Any opinions on these or others?

I'm currently reading the Paleo Diet and then the athlete version.  I saw the Chris Carmichael book the other day at BAM.  It was 3.99 so I'll pick it up.

I got nothing. Sorry, maybe later I'll have more info.

Sean this post is for you. My five day forecast. Cool

See...now that is just uncalled for....

I am happy for you (where is the emoticon that gives the finger?)

Good news is that I am not so sick anymore, so after my wife gets home from the gym tonight, I am going for a nice long slow run....

Any advice on what I can do training wise between now and 06 Apr to get ready for a race?  All the programs on here are 12 and 16 weeks....I need to fast forward it.....

Nutrition Periodization for Endurance Athletes by Bob Seebohar
Sports Nutrition for Endurance Athletes by Monique Ryan

You might want to hold off on Seebohar's book though.  I talked to Bob in January and the updated version should be out this summer.

Mark: don't put too much into the Paleo diet.  Your program is designed around the carb/fat/protein targets I've already given you.  We've put plenty of other athletes through it.  I've gone through it.  There's no reason to make any drastic changes.  We've just need to get through those first few stressful new baby weeks and we'll start peridizing your nutrition to match your training.

I'm not.  I bought the book a few years ago and never read it.  Except for 24 I really don't watch TV.  So I'm catching up on some reading.

She's day to day, just hope I can get my 3 hour ride in on Sunday.

Do you find that The President is a bit weak and General Juma is a bit hard to believe???  And seriously....enough with Renee Walker and wanting to "feel this" and "hurt that".....I think 24 is inbound at 90mph approaching the ramp to jump the shark....

I'm trying to figure out how a small kid with a laptop took over the white house?  Why the hell did they need a flashlight to send a signal to the fbi.  Do the rooms in the white house not have light switches?

More importantly, How did Jack get the door to the lock down open after he fried the control panel?  Sure looked to me like it opened mechanically...Maybe he McGyver-ed it!!!!  Little crazy....

I sure did like Red better when he was on That 70s Show.....or as Clarence Boddicker in Robo-Cop

Mark,

About the BMR thing...I want to get down to 190lbs, so my Caloric intake is supposed to be somewhere around 1950....add in 60 min of something and it jumps up to 2450....is there a certain ratio I should be using?  Are you supposed to consume 1g of protein for every KG you weigh?  That means I need 92g protein a day...sometimes I don't think that is even possible without supplementing with shakes or bars...

I weigh 170ish and my BMR is in the 1900 range.  Coach has me currently on 20/60/20 fat/carb/pro.  But my nutrition is periodized to go with my training.  If your in the 30/50/20 range you should be okay.  I'm sure Aaron will chime in and help if I'm spreading Bull.

Congratulations. He looks healthy.

Hope everyone's training is going well. I did a VO2max cycle test today at uni as part of a practical class, and got a value of 60.48ml.kg.min which i I am very happy with. I had thought that I would be between 50 and 55, so 60 was a pleasant suprise.
