Doing some workouts this weekend.  My sister-in-law is visiting because she's on a roadtrip.  We're going to do something today.

Nothing too exciting, just trying to make it a special mothers day for my wife as it is her first.  Other than that I might get out fishing this weekend, opener is sat. but I don't know if that will happen.  Now next weekend when my wife doesn't work, I will be fishing.

That's sweet!  I hope she has a great first mother's day!

Happy mothers day everybody ! Hope you guys showed thanks to your mothers.

wooo I'm so happy  i just bought  THE triathletes training bible by joe friel.

btw I have stopped weightlifting. I've dropped 15 pounds this past month. The majority of it is muscle though but I feel lighter and faster in the pool and on climbs during long bike rides. 3 more  months till my first ever triathlon. keep training hard guys !

My goals for this month are to keep my diet as clean as possible which is highly difficult since I cook at a restaurant !!..

I'm a little behind, too, but I think I can pick it up by the end of the month.

Run - 10.81 miles - 27%
Bike - 30.47 miles - 30%
PT - 3 sessions - 30%

Yesterday, I realized I have to knit about 30 more inches to finish the scarf.  Ugh...not sure I will finish by the end of the month.

Had two good breakthrough workouts this week.  The first was a 20 plus ride on the bike, my longest ride on the road bike.  Most of my higher mile have been on spin bikes or stationary bikes so far.  It was an awesome ride except for passing the 5 day dead raccoon beside the road.  The nice thing is I learned how to dry heave while still riding.  The worst part was that I was on a steep up hill and couldn't speed away from the stench fast enough.  The other is that I finish a six mile run at a 10:20 pace today.  I have about another week of building to hit my peak, but I am really happy with my training so far.  I think I have the base in to really race my sprint in June.

I am a bit ahead on my long term training plans.  i am still looking for a stand alone 10k to run, but they are hard to find, so I may do a couple of 5ks this summer.  I am feeling pretty good that next year running half marys will be a possibility for me as well as oly distant tris.  I am still trying to find another tri or two to get in this summer, but my wife's work schedule isn't working with me to well.

I had a 50-62 mile benifit ride yesterday.  The day started rainy and more was expected so my friend and I decided to only ride the 27 mile route.  We got pretty wet still but the day cleared after a while and we ended up with a great ride.

Nice job on the ride!  Getting experience riding in the rain is always good.  You never know when it will rain during a race.

My tri turned into a du because of a big storm that rolled in at the swim start. They delayed the start of the race by an hour.  I ended up riding in some rain and a LOT of wind.  It was a hard ride, but it ended up being fun.

I've had 6 events this year so far and 4 were in the rain.  I think my experience bucket is now full.Smile

Sounds like you need a dry race!

I've been pretty lucky.  I had my first really rainy race yesterday.  And that's in the 3.5 years of doing races.  Of course, I've now jinxed myself for the rest of the season.

Going to a Twins game, and landscaping the yard.  Some fun but not a whole lot.

I had a sprint tri scheduled for tomorrow but we have had so much rain in our area that the race has been rescheduled for June. I guess I will just workout as usual since I took it easy earlier this week.

That's really depressing!  Usually they turn my races into duathlons when there is too much rain.  Not sure which I'd rather have - rescheduled or not a tri.
