He has shown quite an anti-US bias in the match.

I think he has shown a pretty liberal attitude towards FIFA rules for both sides, it's safe to say he's had a bad game all round.
Bad day at the office for this ref......

I thought Altidore was going to eat him alive after the "final whistle".  Phew.  Bad calls all over the field today. At least we pulled a draw.

Ref- its not like Mali has a lot of quality soccer to ref....but this is also what you get in the WC...Refs from all continents...and inconsistency!....he was just poor overall....

Would like to make one point - Donovan gets a lot of flak from US fans..he showed today he is passionate about his country and bullied his team into that response...not alone but he showed he cares so the "landycakes" haters need to remember that next time they want to take a free swing at the guy!

Can the non-goal be protested and the result changed?

Or once the game is final, that is it?

One can never change a soccer score.
Otherwise the Maradona's "Hand of God" (86, ARG v ENG) and the IRE v FRA qualifier earlier this year would not be issues.

So from what I can tell looking at the tie breakers, with a 2 goal win over Algeria we are guaranteed to move on regardless of what happens in the rest of the games. Depending on the results of other matches, a 1 goal victory still has a good chance of us moving on.

Without that horrible call, we would be looking at the 1 seed with anything but a loss against Algeria moving us on.

Very likely.
Funny is in the same year, when ARG played agains KOR, Maradona was marked by this Korean played numan JungMoo Huh.   Maradona commented that Huh wasn't playing soccer but Taekwondo.
Huh is now the coach of S. Korea.

Thought I had raised concern about that in one of the WC threads here in CoJ.
Apparently FIFA included quite a few inexperience referees so to "spread it evenly among the world" in terms of referees' nationality.  Some of them have no international game experience.

As bad as the no-goal call was, I'm just happy it wasn't for the tie. Can you imagine if that call eliminated the U.S.? Shudder at the thought.

Anyway, I'm just going to relish the comeback tie and forget the botched call. I think the most likely scenario is England wins twice, we beat Algeria and we move on. And today's comeback saves our tournament. Things looked pretty dark at halftime.

With the chaos in Group D, it's hard to say whether the 1 or the 2 seed is going to be the better team. As long as we make it out of play, being the 1 or the 2 may not matter much.

England looking a little flat in this first half.  Definitely keeping Algeria in the match.

Being English I can say - seen this all before!....hyped as potential winners and cant even beat the group opponents...said it in this thread or the other....England should not strike fear into any opponent..they are average players for the most part...if they were an EPL team they would be Aston Villa!

They are embarrassing to watch!

Need Hesky off...Crouch, Cole or Defoe...change it up Fabio!
