Well, I know I've been missing for a few days but I was out of town for my brother's wedding.  It was beautiful and lots of fun was had by all!  Both of my girls were flower girls, and here's a picture from the weekend.

As a reality side note - I did get in an awesome ride while I was there.  I have some running to make up.  And I need to get my rear in the pool before I head to Chincoteague for vacation on Saturday.

Rhoda, you have two absolutely beautiful young girls there - what a great photo!

How was your dress though? Are we going to get to see any photos of you at the wedding?

Thank you!

Hehe, I hadn't planned on including me...  my girls are much more photogenic than I am!  But here is one of the 3 of us - please keep in mind that me and my hair are MELTING from the heat!

Wow, you've always been cute in your avvie but it's kinda hard to see--you are drop-dead gorgeous! And you must be older than you look, unless you had your girls when you were a teenager. And you've clearly passed your genes on well.

Of course, it's remotely possible that you're kinda ugly but REEEEEAAAAALLLY photogenic and/or somehow photoshopped a lovely Hollywood blond head with perfectly even features onto a very nice body.

Geez, Yanti... you're making me blush!  Embarassed  But thank you.

Quick side story on my avatar...  I used to not have any picture up, which was kinda boring.  And I wanted something, anything to put up there.  All of my tri pictures are horrible.  Along came a race that my hubby was not doing too, so he was taking pics.  I was coming out of T2 but trying to get my hair to stay back in a ponytail so it wouldn't bother me in the heat.  He comes along to cheer me on, sees me fiddling with my hair instead of running.  He yells "This is a triathlon, not a beauty pageant!  Get a move on it!!"  I started laughing...  people around me were not quite sure what to make of my hubby's "motivation".  The funny thing is that I am normally SO not a person that worries about my hair.  My kids thought it was hilarious that I actually brushed my hair for the wedding.  Looking at my avatar usually makes me laugh...  which is a lot better than all my other terrible tri pictures.

Oh, and shhhh...  I'm actually 36.

Hi Crushers!  I've missed you guys... I started work Monday.  I absolutely love it.  I'm an Op Tech so I do all the pretesting during eye exams.  Today I learned all my machines ran through them on my coworkers and feel pretty confident on them now.  The woman running our training is amazing.  She's so nice and just an awesome teacher.  I get along great with everyone I'm working with, we've all just clicked this week and have a good time together.  Our store is brand new and opens next Friday!!  So excited for this.  Next week we set up and I get to practice pretests on my coworkers and we will all probably sit for a frame adjustment with the opticians.  I did find out today that I am farsighted and have astigmatism.  I've noticed little things with my vision but it surprised me to find out I should be wearing glasses.  I will be seeing our doctor after the store opens and getting some glasses.  I did find out my schedule for work and I will be working saturdays but off on Wednesdays.  I kind of like that I have a break in the middle of the week even if it means losing my saturday.

Training wise I'm struggling a little.  I got a workout in today and I'm hoping to get up in the morning for a workout before going to work.  I just need to get a normal work/training routine worked out and I'll be good to go.

You know hpow many times I have practically begged neighbors to spray me with a hose on the way past?  Even our crazy nut friend, Harry hasn't done it yet despite how many times he said he would.  I give up.  I come home from rides and running, remove the compression gear  .....(change out of bike gear but don't bother changing out of run gear)......and jump in the pool even if it's just 3 minutes.  It makes things all better.

Enjoy the new job and get settled in that before worrying too much about the training.  I know exactly how you feel as I find any major change in my routine always seems to upset my training as well.

So I realised this morning that my daughter (16 months old) has been recruited by the girls team to sabotage my training this month.  Had a really bad night with her not sleeping and I turned off the alarm around 3am, somehow slept in past the normal leaving for work time and got into work a bit late and have been playing catch up all day on the few things I have.

Then my manager who must know I'm in this challenge cause he's a guy, informs the team that we are having a team lunch and will most likely be left to go home after it for the afternoon so all the sudden I get a few hours free that I can spend training now.  I'm half tempted to test the achilles out and get the bike off the windtrainer and get some real kms in instead of the 12-15 I can manage at a stretch on the windtrainer.

hehehe, I do the same thing!  But I don't have a real pool anymore...  I only have the kiddie pool, and usually only on weekend.  My kids think I'm nuts when I lay in their pool in shorts and a sports bra.  Tongue out

Only one neighbor had a sprinkler going tonight.  I did take a run through.  I hope they didn't see "some crazy, sweaty neighbor" running across their yard through the sprinkler at 9:30 pm!  I felt like such a delinquent.

1,025 feet of elevation gain on my bike ride this evening in just shy of 14 miles.  About 975 feet is in the middle 2 miles.  Ouch!  That is all.  Carry on. Tongue out

Spending the entire day getting ready to move out.  Packing up as much stuff as I can and taking it to the storage unit tomorrow.  We finally have a place to stay  Unfortunately we're going to have a week or 2 without a place so we're either getting a hotel or staying with James's brother.  His parents bought a house and are renting it to us.  I'm so excited for it to close so we can move in.

Well, shoot...  I guess I'll have to try that.  Otherwise I'll be one swim short for the month.  Today might be a good day.  They are swimming the ponies today and maybe there won't be so many people at the beach?
