Who cares? We went to war. Do you know how many civilians died when the Assyrians destroyed Babylon? When the Romans destroyed Carthage? When the bomb was dropped on Hiroshima and Nagasaki?

All wars have civilian casualties. I will not lament the destruction of my enemy.

This is one of the problems with America today. We want to beat the enemy, but we don't want to hurt them. The civilian population by its action and inaction supports the regime. Their destruction therefore is the cost of war.

It is not our job to force a regime change anymore than it is Iraq's job to force one here. If they were capable and did that here, you'd all be pissing your pants, but you have no problems trampling on the sovereingty of other nations because you don't like their leader.

This is the other problem with America today. We love to tell people what to do at the point of a gun...

Aside from the WMD argument, I thought the reason we're at war is to free the civialns from the bondage of an opressive government. Ergo, why shouldn't we care about killing them?

Haha, no the reasons we are at war are many. But I would put hubris at the top of the list.
