I did 3300 meters on Sat. Another 3300 planned for Thursday.

Felt pretty strong. I used to quit after doing my long sets (500s, 650s) but forcing myself to do more yards I've added in some 200s, 100s which really aren't a big deal at all. I've been focusing on my form of completly extending my stroke past my thighs. It's harder but I have to keep telling myself thats what training is for.

I was just looking at the spreadsheet that has the entire particpants for the swim challenge. There are several people who have 60,000 listed. I thought that my 25,000 was pretty good. 60,000 is about 33.6 miles. This could be done by doing 3 miles a session, 11 sessions. Spread over a month, basically swimming almost 3 times a week, 3 miles each time.

In HS I probably did about 1.5 to 2 miles per practice, 6 days a week for about 45 miles a month. Its been 20 years since then and I'm starting to realize that I'm not the same (kinda a king has no clothes situation". This is not acceptable. I'm going to have to kick it in gear.

Met the masters coach on Monday when I was swimming. Free practices will start in January. I was just talking with him about the practice details (they expect some triathletes to be there-lots of technique work! Yeah!) when he asked, "do you have an old shoulder injury?" and I do-I hurt my rotator cuff when playing softball in college. He mentioned that I wasn't fully lifting my arm out of the water...which sucks cause I thought I was doing better. I do have a sore shoulder after most long swims, maybe they will be able to help me....

Another 2,650 nearer the promised land, and 59% complete. Gee, maybe we Blizzards should double our goals just to make it fair. At this pace we'll lap the field.

i have another 2000 meter in this evening.  My total now is 10716 yards now.  Funny thing.. I have 6.1 miles of running in for the month as well... go figure.....  this next week I am traveling for work.. so I will be lighter on the mileage ...then this week..    feeling really good about the mileage... so far so good...  the time 'away' is going to be my real challenge... getting in the 20k is the easy part.. finding the time... now thats the trick isn't it ...

Good job Possum, and everyone else.  We are kicking some serious @ss.

It snowed again last night.  That's five snow falls in 2 weeks.  Record setting cold as well.  Highs around 1 degree.  I'm going to get my 3500 yds in today.  Nothing like looking through the windows in the pool area and seeing snowy skies and drifts.

Here's a pictre of my deck this morning.

Finished another 2200 yards this morning. I'm done for the week. Log is up-to-date (4250 yards this week, 6250 for the month) and I'm 250 yards ahead of my goal.

Looking forward to the 3-6" of snow they're promising.

Mmmmmmmmm..........beer and brats.............I love being a midwesterner.  You think those silly southerners know anything about winter bbq'ing?  I think not.

You can't even figure out how to wear goggles properly? You are so clearly no match for us, Little Miss Peach.

Hey, goggles are hard. And let's not mention that whole "swimming in a straight line" thing. Who came up with that?

We got about 4-5 inches in SE wisc., but I heard Chicago got POUNDED. I'm afraid I'm going to miss my swim today Blizzards, but do not fear, I WILL NOT LET THE TEAM DOWN...I can make it up at some point.
