Hey everyone! Just got in to work now. I did my French test this morning. Hopefully I passed this time :P

Also, last night, I won tickets to go skating with the Montreal Canadiens next weekend! I am so pumped!

I'm convinced that if we did some mouth-to-mouth resuscitation, our Nanos would magically benefit and come back to life, too.

I have an OLD nano, I think 1st Gen... it's been literally in my pocket in the pool twice. I got it probably in 2004. Just found it again, plugged it in, and it still works. What do you guys do to your iPods?

Meh, I'm not really the autograph type. I'm actually just excited to chat with some of the younger guys who are my age, and have a good time. I have no idea how they deal with the media the way that they do, and I want to find out! haha

Thats impressive. One died from a 7 mile road race in the pouring rain. I think the water killed it. The second one just died after about a year and nothing has worked to revive it. Twice in the pool. Your lucky.

I've never used Rosetta Stone. Actually, I've never used any sort of bought program, it's always been through school or private lessons. From what I understand, though, Rosetta Stone works based on how I think you should learn... Learn well enough to communicate, and then refine. Honestly, if you conjugate verbs wrong, you can still be understood, but if you don't know how to say "apple"... you're in trouble.

I know it's very rarely possible, but immersion is by far the best and fastest way to learn.

I bought a wall charger for my Ipods (even from apple, which seems strange).  You plug the usb cable into it.  BUT, it seems that I keep frying my Ipods.  I get them replaced from apple, but I burned up at least two.

I have a first or second generation "mini" that won't hold a charge at all.  I just leave it plugged into my nightstand clock 24/7 and use it to sleep/wake.

I took them to Indonesia and let them rot in the tropical humidity. They made it about 6 months.

Lucky... and an idiot. Haha. First time, truth be told, wasn't a pool. It was one of those old tray CD player boom box things. We left the top open to hold the iPod, and when the rain came, we just ran inside. When we went back out in the morning (forgot about the boom box after many BEvERageS), and found it. Second time, it was in the Dominican, had it in my pocket, walked through the pool to the swim up bar, had a few drinks, walked back.

I liked Rosetta Stone, myself. If you want computer-heavy, it's okay. (A bit basic and repetitive, not cutting-edge at all) But I also did really well with Barron's (CDs) for Japanese and Spanish.

Oh, I know.  I figured with effort, I could pass if I spent 6-12 months in a country.

On a side note, that's what frustrates me a tad.  People have been in this country for decades and still can't speak english.  They don't even TRY.  But I guess if they stick to their neighborhoods, and have help, they don't need to.

Not really.  I'm just having faith that they will let me sign in on Sat.  Everything will be fine.  I'm still trying to follow up with IMAZ to confirm.

Ultratripigletsurgeonboyfriendhottie managed to douse both his Nano and his iPhone this weekend (complete with headphones) and both survived just fine. I think I even have a pic of him in the water with the Nano.

It just makes me happy there's someone out there who's more blond than I am, in that regard.
