McNeill's The Pursuit of Power: Technology, Armed Force, and Society since A.D. 1000. Fortunately, I only have to read like 270 pages of it, through A.D. 1884. I think it might be out of date. |

I almost bought a big dusty tome on insects today. It looked really interesting. Then I saw the price. Don't ask me what I was doing out when I'm supposed to be tied to my bed. |

It was more the entire size of the person that was very large. |

Good questions. Well, I had "old" parents (43 and 48 when they had me, which is nothing nowadays but was a big deal back then), but they seemed young to me. To me, "old" then was 50 or 55. Now, "old" is 80 and up. That's about right in line with my age progression. 60s doesn't seem old to me, 70s, it depends on the person. |

When I was younger I thought mid thirties was old. Now that I'm 34 I think 50 is old, I'm sure when I'm in my late 40's I will think 70 is old. |
