I have x country skis too, I don't think i've used them in 10 years..not even sure if I have poles...but they are skate skis, and I remember they were really good on groomed trails. I'd have to see what's around me for trails.

I love cross country skiing! Such a great workout and so much easier on the joints than running. I also like it because I can go longer so it's good for endurance. I got another good swim in this morning. 1650 so a full mile. Took me 32 minutes. Definitely have some work to build up speed, but did a 500 right off the bat as warm up which actually felt pretty good.

Well it seems like an eon since I last got a workout in....being new to parenthood is creating its challenges....all good of course! Over the weekend I went to a bike swap and while I had no real intention of buying anything big...I walked away with a Felt B2 Tri bike sans wheels. It was a deal I couldn't pass up...Last night I did a rough fitting so I could pedal it etc... I rode it for 30 mins tonite and it felt pretty good. I definitely need to get fitted and get it checked over, etc. but first run was pretty good! Probably running or swimming tomorrow at lunch. (new schedule for me)...

Good swim workout this morning followed by an all out 5k. Just seconds under 25min for a 5 km was has hard run for me... but considering that early summer, I was running the same thing closer to 33 minutes, I'm very happy. Putting the time and distance into the MacMillan calculator to get my suggested pacing guides. I'm looking forward to seeing how that works. Now if I could just get a massage for my legs. They're still sore from this morning.

I hope everyone has a great week. Keep it up everyone.

Half hour swim before work and half hour spin after work. (And a few pushups and abs stuff in there too.) I have a swim scheduled for noon tomorrow then I'm on vacation until Sunday. I have a run planned during the vacation but other than that I'm squeezing workouts in on the ends of the week.

Got a bunch of bloodwork done, and turns out I need to supplement Vitamin B12. Was wondering what supplements you guys use? I just started protein shakes again after a long time, and sports multivitamin.

Got my workout done tonight..gym was busy...January.

Depends how low your B12 is, but a sport multivitamin should be good enough. B12 is fairly hard to absorb through oral pills, but they have found some way to prevent it from becoming denatured from being exposed to stomach acid. B12 injections are usually 100 mcg IM every 1-4 weeks and I think the recommended oral for a B12 deficiency is something like 250 mcg/daily due to difficult absorption--but depends how bad your deficiency is. Also, red meat! I think the Centrum Sport should have enough. Everything turn out alright with the colonoscopy results? B12 is absorbed at the end of the small intestine in the ileum before the small intestine attaches to the large intestine.

So I threw together a table real quick that has links to all the group members' training logs (provided they are public) and the thread.  I must be becoming computer illiterate because for the life of me I couldn't figure out how to make it look any  better.  Either that or I'm just lazy.  Anyway you should be able to copy and paste it to you dashboard so you can have quick access to the thread and everyone's logs so you can leave inspires and whatnot.

Got a run in at lunch. Still overheated afterwards...reminds me why I don't like to run at lunch and go back to work. Times are improving and knee felt great. Hope to be turning the corner. Plan to swim at lunch tomorrow and then ride Oso Negro tomorrow night! Keep up the good work!

We played parent hookey today (had MLK day off but daycare was open) and hit the slopes for a little.  It was just what the doctor ordered.  It dumped our last few runs too!

Jerry- my daughter is 2 and it gets much easier between 15mos and 2.  Once the sleeping gets better and they start playing a little by selves it's much easier.  I can spin while my daughter plays with blocks and I quiz her on colors, or she does jumping jacks etc.

I have STILL not been able to get a decent workout in. Today I WILL run! I WILL! This illness had just lasted way too long.

Thanks for the Chart Neal. I still have no idea how to make one of those things.

I don't know how folks can do that and not shower! Thank goodness I have a home office, no one to suffer my reek but the personal trainer puppy.

I did shower but the lingering affects of the workout still caused me to sweat...guess I need a proper cool down...

I avoided that today by spending time in the water...1500yd.  Flet pretty good...

Oh I struggled today to convince myself to go running. I feel better afterwards of course. How do you motivate yourself to run? It's the event I struggle the most with!If I'm running tight on cool down I just douse myself with really cold water in the shower. It definitely helps.

I'm on 1000mcg daily. Must have been pretty low :P

Upper GI Endoscopy & Colonoscopy went well. No findings, they took 2 biopsies for H. Pylori but still waiting on the pathology. So I'm pretty healthy, and need to triathlon!

Running is my weakest sport. I have started to enjoy it, though. I spent some time doing a couple 5k's and a couple half marathons. Focusing on just running really helped me break into the sport. It also made me much better. As a flat-footed asthmatic, I struggled to break 10 min/mile, even when I was 20 lbs lighter. After focusing on the run and doing speed work for a short time, I am feeling better and running faster than I ever have. It may just take time. I have also put more emphasis on stretching before and after the run. (ie. I will jog/run for 10 min and then spend 20 min stretching and then get into the main set of my run.)

Also, using a training plan forced me to do it even when I didn't want to. Left to my own, I would not have run much at all. Keep up the good work!!

That's quite a bit. Haha. It's kind of the same deal with iron. You end up taking like 300x more than the actual recommended daily intake because it is hard to get it to the right spot for absorption. So it can depend how it is actually biochemically formulated. Especially B12..since it is water soluble...that is working against you as well.

Keep healthy!
